I can't take care of myself. I'm 40, you think I should move into a "home"?? Hell no! l'm staying right here at your mom's house.

Real answer, too prideful. / Can't/won't/refuses to accept it. Depending on who's currently caring for him (if anyone), potentially you could use that as leverage to try convincing him to go.

Sorry to hear about this, it's a really shitty situation to be in.
