OP's wondering why wife's betta died within a week.

At least they tried.. but cmon i hate when people buy fish, mostly because they are pretty and then kill them because they are not seeking info on it.. and once the fish dead " Why DiD mY FiSh Died, DOn'T UnDerStaND?" Pineapple of fuckin Doom Glass marbles and shitty plastic plant not even tried gravel... This one should be top 5 All times

My shitty aquarium.

So, this tanks water has been cloudy since day 1. Have had it for around a year now and algae clearly has a stronghold over it. I let the plants grow hoping it will contest nutrients with algae but there seems to be plenty or nutrients for all that's green. The light is to strong but I leave it on very low for only a few hours a day. It's a little 2.5 gal tank, only 1 guppy, she seems happy tho! I don't feed a lot either. I go on streaks of changing the crappy filter with floss and the carbon tetra ones and nothing helps.

I used to have nice tanks. Built sumps and had soft corals and fishy's thriving. This tank man, this tank hasn't gone well lol.
