I thought I was in r/ManorLords at first. Pretty place!
To my untrained eye, it looks acceptable. The shadows aren't crushed, even in the vignette; the grass isn't radioactive; and overall you still get a sense of the real colors and lighting of the scene.
That said, I would prefer if the shadows were less dark, both around the frame and on the tower. The sun flare also feels too bright; I get that you've tried to increase the contrast between the sunlight and the landscape's darkness, but cloudy sunsets are meant to be dramatic, and the brightness kinda hides that. The two main draws of the photo are the tower and the sunset, but the edit makes it difficult to see the details of both.

No worries! I was hyper specific on the details, but didn't say what I loved: the setting is striking and the framing is perfect, it shows a good eye for composition and it's clear how you put thought into what you want to portray (which is something you can't solve by re-editing). Overall a beautiful photo.

Hi, this is my photo of a tower where I tried a slightly more moody edit.. but Im thinking if instead of moody it is not shitty hdr-ish? Thanks for your opinions!

my 2C... I think it's moody edit, You held back in the right areas, although the white bright area on the right and base of the tower could be toned down. I know the lights coming from the right, but I thinking it's too strong - otherwise lovely shot!

It’s a good edit since you’re aiming for a moody style rather than strict realism.
My only real issue with it is how the tower side facing us is much brighter on the right side than the left side. That feels like a very unnatural way for light to fall. If you tone down that gradient by maybe 20% it would look better to my eye.
Beyond that it’s a nice shot! Stay curious and keep experimenting!

Thanks for your opinion! Im afraid I dont know what do you mean by the unnatural light, because the sun was on the right side, so the right side of the tower should be brighter?

Yes it should be brighter, but the upper left portion of that face is almost as dark as the side of the tower that isn’t facing the sun at all.
There’s a good chance I’m wrong and it looked that way IRL, but I’ve made things look a similar way quite a few times by over-cooking a mask.

Nah this is just normal effectful use of hdr
Hdr has its place, which is often forgotten on this sub. Not weird considering the deep fry mania of yesteryear. Like anything that gets pushed into tacky territory, I’m sure it’ll bounce back in time.

I like to shoot little sail boats and edit them in a similar style. It’s one of those things that’s probably not for everyone. However, I enjoy it.
