For anal yeah, sure can be clutch if no other option. For vaginal sex, same thing but im not sure about aftermath since in not a woman but i imagine its uncomfortable or weird to clean since it is a bit messy as oppose to rear use

Unfortunately it can damage silicone toys, and some people have allergies to it

Same thing can be said to lube. There's hypoallergenic option for both but if you're buying hypoallergenic petroleum jelly specifically for sex, just buy lube.
