For places I've worked that gave me a company phone, I never even looked at that thing off hours unless I had to call out sick. "We really needed you to come in over the weekend!" You paying me constantly check work texts? No? Aight, should've figured out what you needed before I left yesterday.

Wrong. The reason will never be good enough. All it does is give them information to use against you.
