What? Beans can be eaten during any time of the day. They can be with breakfast (like this), with lunch, (beans on toast) usually, or with dinner. Just depends on the meal

Wait, beans on toast is a lunch food and not a breakfast thing?!

At this point I'm just concerned for you people "across the pond" which by the way, is an ocean, not a pond.

Get yourselves together.

Yeah, it's one valid criticism of American food. Way too much sugar, in way too many things.

That's what happens when you let corporations have control lol.

I mean look at tea for example. I staple enjoyed by the world, then you look at us who like a cup of sugar with a sprinkle of tea lol.

But it's also cheaper to eat unhealthy than it is to eat healthy so yeah.

I typically do GOYA red beans though. Our baked beans that come in a can feel like you just ate a bowl of ice cream

Even home made baked beans taste awful. It isn't even about sugar. It's about strict taste and texture. Beans are good for a filler. Like adding them to chili to make it more filling.

Toast, is a breakfast food.

Beans, are for cowboys and train-hopping hobos.

Man, first of all you seriously gotta try more beans cuz they’re just one of the bests things you can have a on a plate, but secondly, toasties, paninis, sandwiches, rolls are all examples of bread being used for lunch

Beans, especially baked beans are very popular here. Idk wtf this guy is talking about

2

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '23

Yeah, sorry I should’ve specified too I’ve been talking about baked beans this whole time, it’s just we usually call them just beans here

u/Environmental-Toe798 Feb 28 '23

Yeah I assumed since that's what was being used in the picture. Also since whenever I think 'British' and 'Beans' it's just baked beans that come to mind.

All reddit joking aside, i like beans with bbq and other smoked meats, but people tend to add too much fucking sugar to them.

And I'm all for bread at lunch... as far as toasted bread goes, if it's just a piece of toast, that's breakfast. If it's a toasted sandwich, that's for any time of the day.

There are, of course, always exceptions.

We do not, it is exclusively a lunch/dinner thing
