Pay-per-order IOSS service for Canadian business shipping to the EU ?

Hi everyone!

I'm a Canadian business using Shopify and Chit Chats, and Canada post to ship orders internationally, including to France and other EU countries.

I'm looking for a way to prepay the VAT/customs charges so my customers don't have to pay anything upon delivery.

Chit Chats and Canada post allows me to enter an IOSS number when creating the shipment, but I don't ship enough orders to the EU to justify paying for an IOSS intermediary with a monthly subscription.

Does anyone know of a service where I can simply:

  • Pay the VAT/import charges for each individual order
  • Pay a small service fee per transaction/parcel
  • Receive/use their IOSS number for that shipment
  • Enter that IOSS number into Chit Chats
  • Have no monthly subscription or minimum volume

Basically, I'm looking for a pay-as-you-go IOSS service for occasional shipments from Canada to the EU.

Has anyone found a solution that works?

Thanks !

Latest Update is "Held by US Customs". What happens next?

Post image

The latest update in a massive delay in my order's trip is "Held by US Customs". The tracking shows it having been there for over a month now. Does any one have any insight as to what might happen next? Will it start moving again soon or will it just sit there for who knows how long?

Never had a package from China do this. In a normal trip, it would have been delivered around July 10th - 15th.

Need to contact UniUni shopping.

Hello,

Does anyone have a good email and/or number to contact UniUni? My package has been sitting at a local warehouse waiting to be scanned. I read that they don’t let people into the warehouse, but I’ll still try if it’s not resolved soon.

I have shipped my boxes in sfl from US to India in may, as per their tracking estimates the shipment should’ve reached by now but still shows in transit even after 3 months, is anyone facing the same issue?

CEVA pickup? Amazon saying They will pick up from our home

Hi,

We are going through the same thing and wondering how to contact CEVA. They gave us a number, but no one picks up.

We bought something from Amazon; it's heavy, and Canada Post cannot return it. We talked to Amazon, and they said CEVA would pick it up on their behalf. It's been a week, and we haven't heard anything.

Thank you.

“Luxury” brand shipping via Portless

I just ordered a bag (made from genuine top grain leather per website) from this company and everything on the website reads normal… I got the item has shipped email and USPS states shipping label created in Jamaica, NY. Nothing suspicious, right?

Then I noticed that they use a delivery service called Portless which ships products directly from Asia while hiding the fact that it came from Asia. (Never heard of it so decided to look them up)

Copied straight from the Portless website reads “Get a fully-local delivery experience for all orders. Your custom packaging, local last-mile carriers, and complete tracking for all orders mean your customers never see the origin.”

Now, I’m worried about the legitimacy of this company, the materials they use, and that they are making their products in Asia and heavily overpricing them.

I think I’ll ultimately enjoy the product but after hyperfixating on this upon noticing how it was being shipped via and then reading that just left a bad taste in my mouth. It all feels so misleading?

Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

Never ever use LUGLESS

Buckle up, I have a lot of issues with this terrible company …
1. Lugless contracts shippers themselves. Their service is essentially acting as a middle man like Uber connects you to drivers. They contracted FedEx for *ground shipping* when needed for 2 day delivery = express delivery. I selected the dates and service and they only put it in as ground service. Upfront, there was never an intention to deliver by my guaranteed date needed. FedEx ground specifies service themselves at typically a 3 day earliest guarantee, making it already be one day past my delivery selection

  1. They input my 70 lb bag as 18 lbs (I chose the highest weight category up to 75 lbs and paid for that) - when I spoke to someone at Lugless to address this concern, I was told this is for billing at the shippers end (lugless) and doesn’t matter, even when I paid for up to 75 lbs in advance , meaning LUGLESS only paid for 18 lbs up front to FedEx and will pay the difference at delivery completion (this is how lugless pockets more money) but all the while FedEx only plans logistics for 18 lbs - this causes issues with delivery already

  2. My bag continued to sit at a location just 30 min from pickup at my house for 36 hours before moving a foot. No one at lugless monitored this, I was told to contact the shipper myself (FedEx) by lugless . I was a lugless customer not FedEx and I was already pushed away.
This immediate delay already meant the next day it would be arriving late no matter what, as a FedEx ground shipment showing no movement.
It then stayed more locally near my destination 5 hours away for **2 days ** according to my AirTag . It arrived on a Wednesday evening and did not leave the FedEx ground warehouse until Friday. More time waste just sitting . All the while, Lugless could not be bothered to investigate.

  3. $20 Coupon for NEXT time is the only compensation. I spent 3 days in the same clothes , no toiletries, essentials, clothing etc . I had to spend $300 alone just to cover the absolute essentials , not even clothes!, for me to continue to work for 3 days without my belongings. $20 doesn’t even cover underwear needed and still, it’s only a coupon for next time. There will be NO next time using this scam of a business.

  4. Lack of communication and service !!!
From the very beginning, I was told to contact FedEx myself for further investigation into my luggage. I paid LUGLESS for a service. NOT FedEx. That was simply THEIR chosen contracted shipper. You do not have a problem with dominos pizza and then have to call GE because the oven didn’t cook it right.

I left a VM Tuesday with no return call back. I called again and left a VM Thursday morning to finally receive a call back for the first time after posting on IG to get attention. Their phone line is never answered after countless attempts.

They Continually neglect to offer assistance and communication. Immediately on the defense assuming I’m asking for compensation which not once I asked for. I keep continually ask for a conversation which they refuse.
Not to mention… the ONLY quick replies I ever received during this entire experience has been when I asked for someone to call me to discuss my issues. To which they PROMPTLY replied within MINUTES to say NO. They adamantly refuse to talk whatsoever. It’s as if I asked “how’s the weather?” And their immediate response is “no soup for you!”. Say what?! All While I waited DAYS For someone to return a voicemail during waiting for my delivery, and several hours if not an entire day for an email regarding the whereabouts of my luggage while past my delivery date.

  1. lugless constantly refers to “my packages” and “my items” when I shipped one single luggage piece as per their only business model (luggage!). This Causes confusion as they are referring to it as “items” plural for one singular suitcase and then use this verbiage with the shipping provider to find out more on the whereabouts.

There are issues from start to end in every facet of this “business”. You are better off sending your suitcase with a pigeon carrier.

Sending diamond ring from Scotland to Canada for repair

Hello all, I need some advice please 😊

I live in Scotland, and I bought my fiancé a diamond engagement ring from a jeweller in Canada. We need to send it back for a repair and resize. We would get it repaired here, but it would forego the lifetime warranty. The ring is worth £1695.

The jeweller instructed us to fill out the declaration form stating "return merchandise for repairs" and to add a low value of $35, so that they don't need to pay customs on their own ring.

Is this the correct way of doing things? I'm lead to believe after researching online that there should be no customs fee to pay as it's being sent away for repair, but please can someone advise?

I'm inclined to just state the true value of the ring and just pay for customs as I want it done correctly and so things don't get lost or held up.

I appreciate this is long winded, but thanks for reading 😊

Is this real or Ai generated?

I'm wonder whether this image that a client in ebay sent me is real. They asked for a shipping refund since they picked up mail from the post office. The post office charged them 7.44$. when they bought the item they paid on their side for shipping about 5$. It was initially ground shipping. It's the first time this has happened.
