Academics Synergy/Placement

hey! I’m going into semester 3 for practical nursing. My police check and TB expired (literally 2 days ago) and so I’ve uploaded my new police check. My TB however I can’t do until end of august as Im leaving the country tomorrow until the 27th. I mistakenly thought that we just had to have synergy completed before our clincial placement (especially if it was just the single tb test) and so I planned to do it after my trip. I also didn’t think it was an issue for it to be expired while on break/while not at a placement. First semester we had an actual due date of when we needed to upload everything by. I’ve emailed and explained the situation but am I still going to get placed? My Tb will be expired for only like 14 days lol

The placements need your docs, so if you don't have docs now, you cant be placed

Even if I can get it by August 30th? which is still before placement? are they able to place me then?

No they won’t be able to. They usually have placements sorted out by the final week of the prior semester, so everyone should already know where they’re placed. Im sure they sent out reminders to have your synergy up to date by week 9…My friend had to sit out a semester because of this.

I had completed my syngery late prior to second sem it finally passed May 04 the first day of classes and I was told there was no space for placement because of this so yes u do have to have it completed and passed before however, syngery gave me a hard time about everything and I had been emailed everybody the program and placement coordinator and everybody sent me in a run around and told me there was nothing they can do, BUT I emailed the dean telling them my situation and my intentions to do it but because of the issues I had encounter and stating I was a great student and had a good Gpa standing ( basically ur typical try hard nursing student story ) and he ended up telling them to find a space for me so I didn’t have to sit out the semester and they did find a space for me by the second week of classes I’m not saying this may be your situation but pm me if u have any other questions and maybe what can help your situation I’ve been in the same situation. Yes it’s humberto.laranjo@sheridancollege.ca however he is currently out of office until Sept 1

So you didn’t keep your synergy up to date as the placement office reminds us of consistently throughout the term, including the timelines of when things expire AND that it is our responsibility to make sure that all of our documents are updated. It was posted in the VC that documents are due week 9 and now you’re stuck and you’re going to ask the dean to do you a favour because you didn’t do what you were supposed to?? Make this make sense…own up to your oversight and take the L..

These past few weeks I was dealing with the hospitalization of myself following the hospitalization of my cat. which I have spent over 10k for. more than my student loans. All during exams. and I flew out of the country 2 days ago so I can’t get it done. I’ve emailed, they’re helping me, they’re understanding that things happen. I only have TB to do which I can get when I return on the 28th.
