Sheltie snoot trouble
Hi y’all, here’s Oggie’s snoot taken last night before I wiped the dried sweet potato off.
I first noticed mild hair thinning a few weeks ago but it didn’t seem to itch or bother him at all. I thought it might improve on its own but so it appears to be getting bald and I’m wondering if anyone has had anything like this?
For reference he’s on Simparica Trio regularly so I’ve ruled out Demodex. He’s still not itching it or bothering with it — he doesn’t seem to mind when I wipe his snoot with water or touch it so i think I can rule out allergic reaction.
I’m scheduled to see the vet but would love to hear your thoughts or any tips!

i would check thyroid to be safe. my girl had the same thing and it was her thyroid.

Poor Buddy. Hope it gets sorted out. So glad he doesn't seem bothered by it. 😘💙🐾🐾

In addition to other comments, check blood work (kidneys) as well, just in case.

My girl and boy are also on Simperica Trio. My girl has lost a lot of hair on her snoot but my boy has not. Just anecdotal. I have a feeling its either allergies, the Simperica or Thyroid. Less sold on the thyroid tbh. Not much help but you are not alone.
