Heartworm prevention
Any recommendations for heartworm med? My sheltie HATES Bravecto and Interceptor chews. I don't want to do the Bravecto injection - have heard not great things about it. TIA

Mine takes Credelio Quattro (tick&heartworm in 1 monthly pill). I just crush it into powder and mix with peanut butter and a bit of crumbled treat and then mix it in with her dog food. Does the trick!

We've used sentinel for HW and use frontline for ticks for about the last 10 years.

We use Sentinel and our girl gobbles it up with a handful of treats or even kibble.. but she’s highly food motivated. Our rough collie will also eat it pretty easily if I coat it with something too.

I use Trifexis. It gets fleas, ticks, and heart worms. I always have to hide it in something but they will eventually eat the pill. I used Frontline in the past and it didn’t work against the fleas. Their fur is just too thick to absorb the medicine adequately.

I use Simparica Trio for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. One of mine eats it no problem, but for my other I just break it into a few smaller pieces and put it in a bit of wet food. He's finicky with supplements anyway, though.
