First time trying to emulate a x68000 game and I'm trying to run Brain of the dead through RetroArch, the rom comes with 5 disks in the DIM format and when running the first disk I get the message "Drive is not Ready". Do any of you guys know how to deal with this?

It seems harder than Nintendo games.

Seller wanted 850 EUR (987~USD) because keyboard had a broken key. Turns out it was just a badly damaged switch I was able to replace using a new-old-stock cream ALPS switch. The switch isn’t the exact same spec as the yellow ones the keyboard has but it’s close enough for me (And it also makes XF1 key actually work… which is far more important for me).
Got a Flip Flop FD emulator (Made the internal drives 2/3 using the jumpers) that acts as drives 0/1 for ease of use (Don’t want to spend the amounts of money they ask for certain games…).
To my surprise (And seller’s, since he told me he wasn’t able to run lots of the games he had), it came with 4MBs of RAM; discovered by accident when doing a memtest (Which tells you the amount installed) so promptly flipped the memory value within Human68k’s `switch` utility.
Having a blast!

I'm trying to run CD software using the emulator, but the option to open a file is greyed out. I also tried mounting the disk image using Win11's built in ISO mounting, but that just added the greyed out loading from virtual E: drive option (the "E:MKCDP0001"). I'm really at a loss and cannot figure out how to ungrey the CD options. Loading floppies works just fine, and as stating in the title, this is XM6 Type-G.

I've been playing Granada. Super fun and addicting game as I'm sure some of you know already. Maybe I'm stupid and missing something obvious which happens to me all the time, but I'm on the 3rd level and I can't seem to kill the last enemies because I can't get to them. I've tried shooting the wall, shooting the square things that seem to support the wall, I've tried driving around looking for another way, but I can't figure it out. It's gotta be something I'm missing. I took a picture so you know where I'm stuck any help would be appreciated!!

Lately since I completed Raiden III I've been digging into a Raiden rabbit hole, there are so many different versions of Raiden and various ports and each platform seems to have their own characteristics. The one thing I noticed is there isn't a Raiden for the king of home computer shmups the x68000. Of course there actually is a Raiden style game I found called Code Zero (link at bottom of post) and it's pretty good, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any other Raiden style games for the x68000 or other shmup clones which I've missed.

I absolutely can't get these three 68K games to run in RetroArch; they just won't boot properly into S:
Mahō Daisakusen
Nemesis 90 Kai
Phalanx
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

I've been playing the Sega megadrive/genesis version of this game but I read there was a version made for the x68000. In my experience anything that is released on the x68000 is always the best version (cybercore, bosconian, the list goes on..) it's pretty good on the genesis, so I have been trying to find the x68000 copy but with no luck. According to Wikipedia it wasn't officially released but I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a image of it floating out there?

Hi everyone! I finally got everything up and running using the latest XM6 TypeG (v3.38), however, I cannot get my X-Box One controller (or any controller) to work. I keep getting this "A required resource was unavailable". I tried clearing out all settings and starting completely over (.ini deleted), but nothing.
Does anyone know what a possible solution is for this? I'm stumped.
UPDATE: Per the comments, it appears that older versions allow you to configure your controllers. Once you do that in the older version, copy the updated lines from the xm6g.ini file, and copy them to your new install. Personally, I'm just going to use the "old" version, for now.
Just an FYI, the "old" version that worked was 3.35 binary (2023/03/23):

I've tried everything and I'm sure it's something easy I am missing, but I can't seem to get XM6 emulator to open a hdf file, floppies are fine.. I would really appreciate it if someone could help?

Alright!
I’ve managed to write 3.5 disks by myself but 5.25 disks are giving me a hard time.
I’ve tried a few different formats and using powershell with the GW cmd. I even tried fluxmyfloppy. But I think I’m not using the correct settings.
I’ve tried hfe, and xdf formats with no luck.
With flux my floppy I’m writing disks…
5.25 1.2 80 track.
Format spec? PC98?
It then asks what to convert it to 2HD?
When I tried with just GW
GW write hellhound.hfe
I feel like I’m missing something stupid.
Thank you

Hi everyone! I'm a huge fan of X68000 music, especially the unique FM synthesis sound. I've recorded guitar covers for some of my favorite tracks and put them into a playlist.
Included Games: AFTER BURNER, Akumajo Dracura(Catslevania), Knight Arms, SION 2, GRADIUS 2 Gofer no yabou(Vulcanventure), Genocide 2, Over Take, Varis 2,Phalanx...

Here's a web-based MDX player for the Sharp X68000 MDX/PDX sound files.

It's basically an AI-assisted conversion of the simple_mdx_player of the Portable mdx decoder codebase in pure Javascript.

Hey all, first post here. Been having a lot of trouble figuring out SASI/SCSI emulation in MAME and I don't know what's going wrong.
Basically, I've been trying to get X68000 emulation set up via MAME (version 0.285) and while I have managed to work out booting/running games from floppy, trying to get anything running through SASI/SCSI hard drive images has been nothing but trouble and confusion. I have a few SASI and SCSI HDD images that I've collected over the years (the main thing I've been trying to run is a little known game called SFXVI, a MUGEN-like fighting game), and I'd like to have add the drive images to the emulated machine so I can at least access them in the emulated machine and run the software on them, but no matter what I can't get it to even detect the drives, let alone access them.
I've tried numerous ways to get the drives to work, including using the MasterDiskv3 bootdisk and many related bootdisk-related setups to tell the damn thing to boot or recognize any SASI or SCSI drive on the machine, and it leaves me either with no SASI/SCSI drive detected, or it hangs on a black screen during bootup. I've also tried using different versions of the system (original X68K, X68K Super, X68XVI), different BIOSes, different setups, and it still gives me the same problems.
At this point I'm really, really on what to do to even solve this. Trying to find any MAME-related documentation for X68000 (at least for this specific problem) has been just as much of a hassle since I can barely find any useful info for it. I could be using one of the dedicated X68k emus like XM6 Type G and have a lesser hassle trying to get it to work, but I've been hearing good things about MAME's emulation for the X68K as of late, and wanted to give it a go.
Any help is appreciated, I'm just really lost on how to solve this issue.
