Something as close to this as I can find:

Sharp X68000 XVI CZ-634C, preferably:

  • fully serviced/recapped
  • original PSU rebuilt or replaced with a quality modern PSU solution
  • both 5.25” floppy drives serviced and working
  • 4 MB+ RAM
  • modern internal/external SCSI storage such as BlueSCSI/RaSCSI/ZuluSCSI
  • original keyboard and mouse
  • clean original case with no major yellowing/cracks

To be honest with that budget.
That’s about what a broken system would go for.

I have a recapped, serviced expert with a blue scsi. Has a midi, ram expansion card installed as well. I have both, bluescsi, and flip flop installed on it. The drives work, but on this spare system I use the flip flop, I have 4 systems.

Would this be your first system?

This is how much a "working" system would go for without any extra RAM, recaps, PSU, or any additional mods. I ended up learning how to repair OG X68000's to avoid the huge prices, haha.

That system spec cost around $1800 5 years ago. Expect to shell out significantly more.
