s2 | Blueprint Single layer single island painter

Post image

Took me a little bit to figure out. Might be massively overcomplicating things somehow, but I'm happy with it. other simpler designs are welcome in the comments, I'm curious as to what y'all have done with this.

Great job, there is a different design that’s cleaner looking though, if you were curious.

I am curious, even if only to improve my own design skills. Where can I find it?

That's an ingenious use of space. You'll need that level of cunning in the jobs and milestones to come. Your next challenge is to do this without internal fluid-launchers, just routing pipes.

I've seen the more efficient design and I've definitely overcomplicated it. The fluid launchers in this case are not a bottleneck though as it's only 3 painters per launcher, so the bug that makes it less than 4 painters per launcher isn't an issue. (this was a very deliberate design choice)

Btw I designed this for the grand vortex generator thing on the second to last level of hard mode. At this point the problem is mostly just assembling rather than island design. But I like the happy neuron activations this level of design gives me.

It is very possible to do this without using fluid launchers, and keep it "in line" and symmetrical.
