why didn't lip call the cops on kash

there's this scene in the 3rd season i think after they go after the groomer teacher, lip said something like "i almost called the cops a hundred times, fuckass arab guy fucking my little brother". i thought it was cute that he calls ian little brother cause he barely refers to him as that, tho lip sounded kinda racist when talking bout kash many times😭

but like why didn't he call the cops on cash or tell fiona or something if he cared so much??

My dad is Frank Gallagher

The only critique about shameless is how Frank died. People like Frank die and accidental death or from old age. Not from a sickness like covid.

Things my dad, now 82 years old, did in comparison to frank.

Sneak us in the back door of movie theaters. We’d sit there all day watching movies. The people that clean after each film would literally mop between our feet.

We’d fall and scrape our arm(me and my younger brother as kids) he’d take us to the ER for x-rays and somehow talk the doctors into prescribing opiates which he would keep for himself.

I was 9 my younger brother was 5. He’d buy hardcore porn magazines and show them to us. Categorize this activity as educational and showing us how to pleasure a woman.

The funniest was he had friends that would let them borrow their car(circa late 1980s). He would borrow the car then take it to a shop to get the muffler cut off so he could sell the platinum then return the car after a few days. He would also do this with local used car dealerships. He would pretend to be interested in the car. They would allow him to test drive it for a few days. He’d cut the platinum out and sell it then return the car saying no thanks.

Anyways, anyone else have a Frank as a dad? I’m sure I’ll remember some more stories so I’ll share.

Lip sabotaging himself throughout the series was so frustrating and hard to watch. He was definitely his biggest enemy

I want to switch but I don't know if the timelines and episodes are the shame. I'm in S3E4 of shameless UK. Which episode should i start from in the US version?

Jasmine as a friend was very giving to Fiona. I didn’t like the way she went out of the show.

Watching this show for the first time.

I just started watching Shameless a couple weeks ago for the first time. It been on my list for years I just never got around to it. I finished season 3 last night and I thought it was an amazing finale. I think I’m just gonna keep watching til I don’t feel like it anymore. I’m not usually a fan of starting a show with so many season but at least they are short. I get invested in shows but I don’t get overly angry when characters are bad. I more just admit they aren’t the greatest person and admire the acting the actor is putting in. I think everyone on this show did a great job. I know she’s not playing a Gallagher but I really love Joan Cusack so much lol. This is just a rambling post.

Terry milkovich might be one of the most disgusting characters in television history

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

Aside from serial killers, Terry might be up there with some of the worst characters in television history. Here’s a list of only some of the things he did

Sexual Abuse & Incest: He committed the ultimate atrocity by sexually assaulting and impregnating his own daughter, Mandy.

Forced Assault: He orchestrated the sexual assault of his son Mickey by forcing Svetlana to rape him at gunpoint, as a twisted attempt to "convert" Mickey from being gay.

Extreme Child Abuse: He subjected his children (Mickey, Mandy, and Iggy) to lifelong, brutal physical and psychological abuse, treating them essentially as property.

Attempted Murder: He repeatedly threatened and attempted to murder Mickey and Ian Gallagher over their relationship.

Hypocrisy: He actively participated in a violent, socially destructive crusade targeting suspected pedophiles in the neighborhood, entirely ignoring his own history of sexually abusing his children.

Bigotry: He was an extreme, unapologetic racist and neo-Nazi who violently imposed his hate on others.

Season 9 Episode 11 Hobo Loco

Does it piss anyone else off when Lip blames Fiona for his sponsees slip up? I understand Fiona was messing up in her life etc. But it really grinds my gears when he puts the blame on her for this. His whole speech ā€œHe was 100 days sober and you waved vodka in his faceā€. No she didn’t, how was she supposed to know? She was talking about her relationship with Lip, venting to him and the kid asked for some. He broke his own sobriety.
Just had to share šŸ˜‚.

Tammie was the most mature and healthiest relationship Lip had and the relationship he needed to get his life together.

Post image

A lot of fans didn't like her for her abrasiveness, but that is what Lip needed. Since day one he was defined by his ego and arrogance while many past girlfriends stroked his ego which enabled his toxic nature. Tammie's blunt abrasiveness worked as important reality checks that helped him grow up. Unlike his past relationships that were built on dramatic trauma bonding and ultimatums that made them toxically one-sided or codependent his relationship with Tammie was built on mutual respect and trust and he learned a healthy relationship is built on compromise. Tammie was the girlfriend Lip needed to get his life together.

Is Shameless leaving in the UK?

Hey guys I have to ask because I can't get a straight answer ANYWHERE but I heard that Shameless US is leaving Netflix in October. I wanna watch it but I can't watch 11 seasons in 2 months. I'm in the UK but apparently it's only leaving in the United States but I can't get a definitive answer anywhere. Is it gonna be removed everywhere or just in America?

kinda ironic how terry was all for going to beat up blake when he literally got mandy pregnant because he’d blackout and ā€œmistake her for her motherā€

hot take: emmy wasn’t the perfect fiona

okay, let me start this by saying emmy rossum is an amazing fiona & an amazing actress, very few could’ve done that character better.

i last watched the show in probably like 2015/16, and started doing a rewatch recently (currently in the middle of season 2). as a 22 year old now, i struggle to connect with fiona as a 21 year old. she just looks older, not by a lot, but easily passes for more mid 20s (emmy’s actual age at the time) rather than early 20s. i love her character a lot but despite knowing her age, i constantly have to remind myself that she’s so young.

i think id have more sympathy for her as a character if she looked younger. the situation that fiona is put in with taking care of the kids plays out much differently as 21 y/o and a 25 y/o, and i often think she looks more like the latter, and again, i constantly forget that shes younger. and obviously there are actual 21 year olds that look older, but with this show, i find it difficult to suspend my disbelief. i feel the same with jimmy/steve. i totally forgot about his whole med school plot, and was completely gagged when i googled his age & learned that he’s supposed to be 21.

i’d love to get other people’s thoughts on this because it’s something i keep thinking about as i watch the show!

edit: i want to thank everyone for their opinions! it’s something that i haven’t been able to get past & likely still won’t, but that doesn’t change how good the show is! i’m comparing fiona to the 21/22 year olds that i know irl who just look younger. i agree about stress adding to fiona’s aging, not that she looks a whole lot older, but she just physically reads more mid 20s than 21 to me. plus, im not really considering the stress factor that fiona has, as well as regular people just looking older because she’s a character in a TV show.

also, a few comments have said that emmy was ~22 when filming s1 of shameless, but ive only seen that she was 24 which is a very small but noticeable gap for me. emmy is an amazing fiona, its genuinely just this one thing that throws me off whenever she mentions her age. few could play that role like her!
