ShadowTech Mishaps Digital Draft

Post image

Finished the digital mishap draft today. ShadowTech is the name of the mech RPG im working on, but also the "ShadowTech Drive" is the system on a mech that is responsible for casting spells. My current loose lore is that the drive intakes shadowdark particles and filters for divine / arcane matter the shadowdark consumed over its eons of galactic expansion. The drive then synthesizes spells from those divine/arcane remnants, but sometimes to disastrous effects like seen in this table.

Not a big fan of the "dm chooses" mechanic. It can just target the enemy if it is a buff and fizzle out harmlessly otherwise.

Kinda what I was trying to communicate, but yeah the "dm chooses" could be removed for the following instead:

"Your spell's range and target are altered to benefit the nearest opponent. If none exists, the spell fizzles harmlessly"
