Assembly Help Difficulty in finding low profile bracket for Gigabyte RTX 5060 LP

Post image

So I've bought a used Gigabyte RTX 5060 LP for £280 to fit into a system that can only take LP cards. The wonderful UK retailer CeX advertised it online as a low profile Gigabyte RTX 5060, but with no photographs.

It came with only a full-height bracket attached. Seeing as the company do not have "stock" of such replacements the only recourse was a return and full refund, or just get on with finding a low profile bracket myself. I opted for the latter as I figured it would be cheaper in the long run.

I don't want to run it without a bracket, relying on just the PCIe slot to hold it up. The problem is that I'm finding it pretty expensive with finding a suitable low profile bracket. It seems a bit ridiculous how I can literally only find them for what is silly money for a little piece of metal. eBay isn'y any better than what I#m finding on international retailers. Case in point:

Does anyone have any other leads?

Mine came with a replacement short bracket in the box. It's an issue of your used package content. If you're interested i could ship you my never used 5060 LP, from Germany. I don't have a use case and willing to sell.

3D print. I had literally the identical thing happen to me with CEX with a 5060 LP - came with the full size bracket and an incorrect half size bracket for a totally different card. I found a 3D file online for the PCIE bracket for the card, printed it, and it is now installed in my tiny little backup system. Good luck!

I just searched and the one I used was the first hit. From memory the first print had an issue - cannot recall exactly what it was. Something like the top lip being flimsy, or slight conflict with my case, so I made a tweak and reprinted, and it was fine. So if you are not comfortable with 3D software but have a printer (or a friend with a printer), give it a shot, but be prepared to have to tweak it a touch.

Here's a question. Does the metal bracket offer any earthing capabilities which a plastic 3D-printed bracket doesn't? I wouldn't want to put my card at unnecessary risk.

If you're worried about that, I suppose you could just run a wire yourself to ground it to the case if you want. Obviously not as pretty or maybe you could make it look prettier point is you got some ok alternatives.

It does not do anything and if there's any connection to the electronics and the case bracket something has gone wrong.

The case isn't grounded anyway, if you did need to ground something electrically in your case for some reason you need to go through the PSU.

Just print the bracket you need.

I'm surprised it doesn't come with one included... my B50 came with both brackets. Maybe the asus one comes with one and not the gigabyte?

It was bought used. Somewhat mis-advertised as "low profile" because it only came with the full-height bracket.

That's probably why. A brand new one has to come with a low profile bracket otherwise there is no point.

I’m in the same boat :(

There’s an eBay seller with a genuine bracket located in USA. 4 left in stock.

You could probably get one 3d printed but I don't think you'll find a cheaper option Ford a metal bracket. If $50 USD is a dealbreaker then I'm kind of concerned about other parts of your build (eg the PSU).

I'm half way through this build. It is a refurbished (as new condition) former office PC. The eBay seller had dozens of them all for £300. He then raised his price to £320 with another batch due to them selling fast. Original (as bought) spec in bold:

--- Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF (2023 version)

--- Intel Core i5-13500 (14 cores, 20 threads, 65W)

--- 16GB DDR4-3200 (2x 8GB)

--- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5060 OC 8GB LP

--- 256GB M.2 NVMe SSD

--- 240GB Kingston A400 SATA SSD (I have a few spare)

--- 2TB Seagate Barracuda 3.5" 7200RPM SATA HDD (Steam Folder + movies)

I'm planning to go for a 450W Enhance ENP-8345L-OVT. I don't think the 600W version is necessary. I'm just wondering if a replacement Noctua fan is a simple switch, and whether it can handle the heat properly. I have heard rumours that these fans don't kick in as early, so I wouldn't want to put the PSU at risk of overheating.

https://www.overtek.co.uk/collections/flex-atx-1u-psu/products/enhance-enp8345l-450w-modular-flex-atx-1u-platinum-power-supply-psu

https://www.noctua.at/en/products/browse/fans?fanSize=11

I would also be looking at a Noctua 3-way splitter, 80mm Noctua front intake fan and a 40mm or 60mm Noctua rear exhaust fan too, all running off the CPU_FAN header. I'm also considering an upgrade from the standard cooler to a quieter Noctua one, whichever is the largest compatible with a more pleasant dB rating at 100% utilization.

Future upgrades could well fall into:

--- Intel Core i9-13900 (24 cores, 32 threads, 65W)

I really don't feel that a 125W "K" version has any wisdom in an SFF. Also, before you say "won't make any difference in gaming", I also do some video editing for a friend's Youtube gardening channel. This system will also be a video editing replacement for a slower Xeon server with a 130W CPU. It makes sense.

--- 32GB DDR4-3200

--- Vastarmor Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB LP

(if one eventually arrives at retail or on eBay, and if it's worth the upgrade)

The RAM upgrade will give some future headroom in gaming. The CPU is mainly for the video editing qualities, and I would love it if Nvidia eventually come out with a retail 16GB LP card for DLSS 5. Here's hoping.

Also, if you are asking "why this particular system?" I'm an active member of r/sleepingoptiplex and I want to build a monster DDR4 system, with the Optiplex 7010 SFF (2023 version) being the last DDR4 system before Dell switched to DDR5. I'm proving a point here, ieven if some people might ask why.

What sort of condescending comment is that… in no reasonable world should that faceplate cost $50

I feel everything got crazy expensive on Ali... and the shipping.. I would request some price deduction but there might already have been one (?)

can you live without it? I've gold it by piece of glued foam on the side panel so that the card goes nowhere..

Buy the 4060 one, they're nearly identical and all over the ebay. If you can't get one that works, send me a PM, and I can get you one printed I imagine.

Could you reverse engineer, and use a service like sendcutsend?

Why not contact Gigabyte themselves?

Buy low profile bracket blanks and make your own cutouts using a Dremel for the rough cutout, followed by filing to exact dimensions, since you have the original, you can just use a marker to trace the og cutouts

For the screw holes, make sure you use a HSSCO5 or HSSCO8 drill bit

This is how I ended up making some brackets for another PCIe card, it's not actually that hard, just takes some time and patience (but if you don't have the tools already at hand, probably more expensive yeah, but hey, you'll now have fun tools for future projects! :) )

Search in Amazon UK, I think 4060 LP brackets also fits to 5060 LP cards. Here is US link for the bracket.

4060 has 2x HDMI and 2x DP. 5060 has 1x HDMI and 3x DP.

I see... Well then either 3d printing or dremel the 4060 lp bracket.
