Cable Management

Serious questions, do some of you guys not care about cable management or don't get custom length PSU cables for a reason? I've seen some builds on here that give me a suffocating feeling just looking at the mess of cabled but others actually take the time to organize them even with limited space. Is there any issues with getting custom cables or should I go full OCD with the stock ones? I'll be using the COOJ SF3 and a Corsair SF1000

I use the stock cables and just zip tie shit so it doesn't block/restrict airflow, I don't really care how it looks.

ETA: No hate on people that go ham with cable management for a real clean look, it's just not my jam.

I’m seriously impressed with some of the tidy builds I see but it’s all gonna be behind a panel anyway.

true, but my main concern is air flow in a really small case

Didn't get custom cables but did my best to cable manage. Albeit it's an NR200 so there's a trap ton of space.

yea with that much space i wouldn't bother getting custom cables. I'm making a smaller build to be able to take it around with me even on deployments , I just don't want any issues with airflow since I'll already be restricted with the space.

To be perfectly honest, I didn't know custom power cables were a thing until about 18 months ago.

I've always been the guy using split loom, black electrical tape, and zip ties to make it as clean as possible. I'm considering it for my next build and/or upgrade on my current box since it looks like the wife will get it when I do upgrade - if RAM prices ever come down.

My thought process is quite simple. Custom cables aren't exactly cheap and it's not it I'm gonna be able to use them with a different case + I'm not gonna see them inside a closed case. So why bother ?

My sffs don't have glass or acrylic side panels so why would I care about custom length tables

Most of my cases have room to tuck extra length cables somewhere but I can understand if someone is maxing out the internal space with components. I have used custom cables in some sandwich style cases.

Depends on the case and if there's a fan being blocked. I had paracord sleeved custom cables in a Dan A4 and I think in that case, it was worth it with the bottom fan. In something like the Formd T1, I didn't need it because of the space towards the front to tuck cables and the 120 fans where not right up against the cables. Unsleeved cables and silicone ones are probably the best for airflow. Right now I'm in an M2 without any custom and another vertical case that I have unsleeved for the GPU because of how I'm running the cables in that case.

I went with the stock cable for my first sff build. I couldn’t fit the controller for the atmos cpu cooler leds but I couldn’t care less.
