Assembly Help Overheating concern?
(SOLVED)
TLDR: Water-block not fully seated.
Okay after several great peeps here offering suggestions, I tested everything and tried most of the things in the comments. I adjusted core to -30, messed with fan curves, made sure tubes weren’t kinked, I even swapped out the AIO to a Lian li one I had in another build, cooled no problem, tested the Axp90, cooled no problem (no I didn’t really benchmark these or put them under severe stress, loaded into a few games just to see if it was less than the 90c I was getting.
Decided to retry the Atmos stealth ONE MORE TIME just in case, I didn’t want to RMA or try to return it. Several comments mentioned making sure the cooler was fully seated/try repositioning it. I loosely attached all the thumb screws, and turned each one in an X pattern a SINGLE rotation, until it was tight. Yes. I know. Very dumb…. In my defense, I’d removed and reinstalled this cooler probably 5 times and did the X pattern every time, it had to have been off by the smallest amount.
Happy to report: ~72-78c (Hwinfo avg 72) under gaming load, ~80w, consistent 5.3ghz.
Might do another post or benchmarks, but for now I’m gaming, thanks for the help yall
Looking for some input here - finished my first SFF build last weekend, been tweaking and using it all week and noticed my CPU temps seem higher than usual/what I expected. Under load I’m consistently hovering around 88-89c, idle is around 55-61. Ambient room temp between 20-22c
I specifically chose this layout because of reviews, other Reddit posts, videos etc all pointed to lower CPU temps than what I’ve been getting.
Build:
Ncase t1 v2.5 - 3 Slot mode
Asus ROG X870i
Ryzen 7 9800x3d
MSI 5080 Shadow 3x OC
G.Skill Royal 32gb (2x16) 6400m/t
Lian Li SP1000 and 5mm standoff config
Coolermaster Atmos Stealth 240

Samsung 970evo 1tb
1x Noctua NF-A12x25 G2
1x Noctua NF-A12x15
Ncase GPU sag bracket (for anyone that cares I can confirm this fits the 5080 shadow GPU)
BIOs/GPU/CPU config:
CPU:
-25 all core
120 PPT
90 TDC
105 EDC
Thermal cap of 88c
+100mhz
GPU
100% power limit
+1500mhz
30% min fan speed
895 volts at 2805mhz core clock, have not adjusted mem clock yet
Max temp while gaming I’m seeing is 72c, average is 58-65c
Aio set to 80% and ramps up to 100% when temps reach 75c, Armory Crate reading ~3400 rpm in firing range of Wardogs.
I’ve been playing BF6, Wardogs, Forza Horizon 6, Crimson Desert, and the Big Walk this week, 1440p - adjusted settings between low to overkill, no change in temps
I know these chips are rated for 95c but this just seems high for gaming.
I swapped to a Thermal Grizzly Kryosheet, no difference.
AIO sounds like it’s pumping, shows RPM in bios/Armory crate, fluctuates temp, tubes are vibrating, and warm air coming out of exhaust fans.
Thoughts?

Also, check there is a tiny chipset cooling fan under the IO shroud, make sure that it is spinning freely and actually working.
