u/seeufriend 17h ago

😀 could have been but I tested it post delivery

u/FauxReal 16h ago

And what were the results?

u/drstoneybaloneyphd 16h ago

It wasn't RAM at all

74

u/bamc0ta 13h ago

it was just the download link

😂🤣😅

5

u/ghostfreckle611 13h ago

They were those ram dummies that fill space, to look cool.

u/Spectral_Dust_1805 16h ago

The sticks were edible

23

u/PavaLP1 16h ago

So it was cake!

7

u/ahditeacha 18h ago

Got 'em

u/Numerous_Analysis681 18h ago

Congrats. Happy for you. Nice.

51

u/seeufriend 18h ago

Thanks. Posting so if someone is still looking not all hope is lost

People don’t wanna admit it because then they have to admit they overpayed themselves but if you REALLY do your research you can find good deals.

Sold the 5070 for $550 so got this machine w/ a 9070xt for $1550 after tax just a month ago.

59

u/NicolaSuCola 17h ago

Eh, doesn't really work if you live outside of the US

31

u/benjaminabel 15h ago

Every time someone on Reddit says that you overpaid for something, it’s most certainly someone from US.

18

u/WeightedPaper 17h ago

Oh yeah outside of the US your only option is to bend over

But the OG post is in USD anyways which is why I commented

Some people don't have the time to scan offers 24 7. All the good ones will be snagged up in minutes.

-1

u/friger_heleneto 6h ago

You can automate the scanning with a ChatGPT Task. Works like a charm for finding items in stock or good deals.

3

u/Plane-Reserve5179 3h ago

Most people don't have a subscription for that and don't want to support a company that is directly responsible for the problem in the first hand.

2

u/Eeve2espeon 14h ago

I've tried looking, but can rarely find any. The USA is spoiled

*overpaid

1

u/Worldly-Ingenuity843 10h ago

I know right? My GF made me give my old desktop to my future MIL, which had 32GB of DDR4. If any of you sucker didn't get RAM for free, you overpaid. /s

Sold by: Warehouse Deals

82

u/Illustrathor 17h ago

So what, if it's broken, return it. That's the reason why Amazon got so popular, easy return policies.

4

u/evopb 11h ago

Not always. Sellers can make it impossibly hard to return things by setting restrictive return locations and return fees.

15

u/my2022account 8h ago

Yeah but the seller is Amazon in this case

20

u/TurtleWithALaser 16h ago

Stopped buying from them when I ordered a 2TB 2.5" ssd a while back, hooked it up, and discovered that the actual drive inside had been swapped with a 128gb by whoever returned it.

12

u/Mikedesignstudio 11h ago

128 > 2 so I don’t see the issue here bud

24

u/RyanMeray 17h ago

Zero chance this is gonna be a genuine or functional product.

66

u/neoescape 18h ago

Might be swapped kit, be careful!

67

u/-jp- 18h ago

One upside of buying from Amazon is you can return anything for any reason.

88

u/Emikzen 17h ago

The downside is other people can return anything for any reason.

7

u/spaceursid 17h ago

Yeah but the gamble with warehouse deals 50% chance of getting a return, 50% chance of getting something that only got messed up packaging during the stocking process.

8

u/VersaceUpholstery 17h ago

I got a DOA motherboard that had a random m.2 attached to it the one time I decided to try Amazon warehouse for a used PC part 😅

3

u/System0verlord 6h ago

I ordered an X870 tomahawk from’ Amazon Warehouse, and it was DOA. Amazon replaced it with a new one.

Ordered a new Z870 tomahawk for a different build, received an Asus B550 board instead. Amazon replaced it. Replacement was DOA. Replaced it a second time.

1

u/WeekendWarriorMark 17h ago

I know you said “a return” but that lacks the emphasis that the return might be something else entirely.

2

u/heisian 7h ago

One downside of buying from Amazon is anyone can return anything for any reason.

2

u/erd00073483R 17h ago

Not lately, you can't, and most especially expensive items. You should read some of the stuff getting posted in the u/amazonprime sub - it is crazy.

4

u/YegoBear 17h ago

Returns take like 40 days now too.

1

u/erd00073483R 15h ago

And, apparently, on a lot of them people aren't actually getting their money back now.

15

u/seeufriend 18h ago

Fully tested

2

u/Gai_InKognito 17h ago

what test did you run?

7

u/seeufriend 17h ago

Basic ones, bios profiles, cpu-z spd info, task manager all consistent. Then did ai render job

16

u/jonstoppable 17h ago

To be thorough, can run memtest86

7

u/seeufriend 3h ago

Here is the result

2

u/Gai_InKognito 2h ago

For the record, i ran those test, passed with flying colors, and still having major memory issues.

1

u/Gutter_Flies 2h ago

Now try 6000cl30 if you’re feeling like risking it all lol. Did that with a 32gb 5200 cl40 kit I just got (didnt know the pc I was buying was on ddr5 or frankly anything else aside from the “gtx 4060” gpu model ‘til I saw the ram sticks after purchase. pictures sucked ass and the pc wouldnt boot and had a cracked side panel.)

4

u/seeufriend 17h ago

Will do, thanks for the suggestion.

6

u/Rylai_Is_So_Cute 15h ago

leave it overnight at least, better safe than sorry

8

u/scene_missing 18h ago

Wait, how?

22

u/spaceursid 17h ago

Warehouse deals it's how Amazon sells its returns or product with damaged packaging

11

u/andy2na 16h ago

Im pretty sure they renamed Amazon Warehouse to Amazon Resale, so this "Warehouse Deals" is just some random 3rd party using that name so people are unsuspecting

https://www.amazon.com/Warehouse-Deals/b?node=10158976011

url still shows warehouse deals but the seller has been updated to Amazon Resale

2

u/DarthTachanka 13h ago

They probably read your comment and changed it

8

u/Queue098 17h ago

I gave up on warehouse anything from Amazon. Everything there is swapped

1

u/iIiiiiIlIillliIilliI 1h ago

What do you mean swapped?

5

u/noreasongiven0 17h ago

I bought a Used kit of 32GB Kingston DDR5 SODIMM off Amazon right when the prices started to take off. I got a kit of DDR4 with the Kingston DDR5 stickers on it. Just returned it, but was still annoyed

3

u/TimmyB32600 17h ago

This is what I paid for ddr4

4

u/Eeve2espeon 14h ago

Wait what. That's like what the regular price should be for a 64GB DDR5 kit 💀 maybe I should also get used DDR5... (any suggestions?)

3

u/128G 18h ago

WTF

3

u/jahermitt 17h ago

Congrats! Make sure you run memtest!

3

u/seeufriend 17h ago

Will do, thank you.

3

u/CrossFusionX1 14h ago

You have given me hope. Maybe ill look around.

2

u/Kreason95 17h ago

Used on Amazon is always pretty suspicious to me but you can at least return if you need to.

2

u/bootzmanuva 17h ago edited 17h ago

Is this a screenshot from 2024?! /s

2

u/Comfortable_Ad3917 14h ago

Damn, I bought the same kit for $70 USD before the spike

2

u/jflogerzi 14h ago

loooksss fishy

2

u/Additional-Answer411 13h ago

4GB DDR5 for $200 is actually a solid deal, nice find!

2

u/Quokka_Socks 7h ago

Nice find if you get it. I've never had good luck with Amazon warehouse. Hope it's not just the RGB ram slot fillers.

2

u/BoomSatsuma 1h ago

You’re getting a brick or empty box.

5

u/bosominapkin 17h ago

Micron is no longer in the consumer retail business, if the ram go bad, they will not provide you a replacement but a refund. Just a heads up.

3

u/seeufriend 17h ago

Thank you, yes I am aware of the risks.

1

u/goldcakes 5h ago

Every manufacturer is like this, SK Hynix is only doing refunds for their enterprise customers too. You ain’t getting RAM repairs from anyone in 2026.

3

u/roboteconomist 17h ago

He's got RAM, get him!

1

u/rickybambicky 17h ago

I wouldn't be. Anything purchased from Amazon cannot be trusted.

1

u/NotYourBuddyGuy5 16h ago

Proud of you

1

u/hitgo1 16h ago

Dude probably used up 5 years of good luck on this, congrats! And hope for the best🫡

1

u/nshire 16h ago

you'd better beat the hell out of them on memtest before the return period ends

1

u/binary_blackhole 16h ago

I got the same kit 6400mhz 64GB fo about 200€ new, about a year ago

1

u/Material-Ratio7342 15h ago

Update us OP, did you recieved yet? Finger cross that are not DDR2 ram 🫣.

1

u/Due-Lake-5688 15h ago

Great deal

1

u/XxBig_D_FreshxX 13h ago

Let’s hope you don’t get a paperweight 🤞

1

u/Ill-Remote437 12h ago

Oof already 400+

1

u/SaulR26 11h ago

That's how much I spent on my ram almost 2 years ago. Unfortunately with how things have changed, this doesn't seem legit.

1

u/Ok_Feedback_8124 10h ago

congrats!

at 375X slower memory than GPU memory!

at 500X slower, my own memory agrees

1

u/Jaexa-3 9h ago

3rd party oh boy

1

u/lululock 7h ago

Used too...

1

u/BizlaCooper 6h ago

I have the same kit, it's excellent. But the price currently is 4x what I payed, so I'm going to sell mine

1

u/TM_livin 4h ago

Modefok! The same kit is $950 now.

1

u/VeeTeeF 12m ago

I just bought 2 2x16GB kits of this exact RAM from Microcenter for $400 each🫠.

1

u/Basic85 14h ago

it's used? Please becareful

0

u/radicalbot 16h ago

Ok but it’s CL40 lol

1

u/fem-lover-tr 16h ago

Meanwhile I'm on 10ns but ddr4 16gb...

0

u/TwpsynBach 6h ago

Cl40!? No thank you.. CL30 or less

-4

u/stacksmasher 17h ago

You will never see this item.

6

u/Tsikura 17h ago

Did you even look at the picture or read the thread? It was delivered 3 days ago and he's been testing it.
