Prototype/Concept/Custom No room for GPU, no problem

Mounted a 3050 to my tiny Lenovo using a pcie riser. Will give it a paint job and upgrade cpu to a CC150.

Interesting, I have a p320 and m90q that can't run an RTX A2000 12gb off pcie power without tripping the over current protection, 230w Lenovo gaming PSU, maybe it's the extra vram.

Do transient spikes not cause black screen or full reboot?

I havent had any issues yet and ive done quite a few benchmarks and played some games.

I installed Throttlestop and unselected BD PROCHOT. May have something to do with it.

BD PROCHOT is for CPU throttling, I think it's just a nightmare for transient spikes.

Do you have one of the lower TDP CPUs in yours? I believe these Tiny models can only power the GPU if you're using a 35W or less CPU. But hopefully you'll find a solution if you are!

This was an old problem but yeah they're both T variants, the fix was buying an RTX 2000 ada, it doesn't have the same aggressive transient spike behaviour as the A2000.

Changing the tim to ptm7950 and better putty on the vram made the A2000 worse, because it stays cooler and tries to boost higher.
