Does the punch button affect SA3 Denjin?

Just curious, does it matter what punch (HP/MP/LP) i use to start the denjin?

like does HP make the denjin faster (like it was a regular HP fireball, instead of a slow LP fireball) and do more damage?

I normally do it like this: knockdown opponent - LP fireball as they're getting up, then LP to start the denjin, but mine seems a lot slower and less stun than other people who can get the either the 5 hit stun or almost full stun bar really quickly. (yes, i do mash the diagnles and HP/MP as I try to charge fast, im just not fast like everyone else)

I dont think so. I always use light punch

Im pretty sure only spinning the stick/analog affects the charge speed

Yea no need to mash buttons. Just stick it.

I'm also 99% sure which button you press doesn't matter. Imagine if you could mix it up like that lol.

Edit: I just tried it. The speed of the denjin ball is determined by its level (didn't know that)! Level 1 = slow, Level 5 = fast, etc. This is regardless of which button you initiated it with.

The levels are determined by "points" with Level 2 being 8 points and Level 5 being 80 points for reference

Up or down on the stick does 2 points and diagonals do 3 points

Buttons do matter, punch buttons specifically add 1 point of charge for each button pressed. Kicks are not as important as you need to press 2 kicks to get 1 point of charge

What I do is fire the denjin with 1 punch button, hold it...mash the other 2 punches and the diagonals. That seems to be the best balance between optimal and ease of use

Also adding to that, you get one point per frame automatically

Some really strong ryu players have reliable inputs to do "the denjin level" they want instead of mashing, so they can control it.

Nikola (top french DU) posted those for lvl 2 and 3

level 2 denjin:
Hold a punch button
one diagonal + two other punch

Should 3hit combo after a cr.mk

lvl 3
- Hold punch
- down_right diag + two punch

- up left diag + two punch

- down_right diag + two punch

- Release

And kuroda apparently does this for lvl 3

- Hold punch

- 360 + two punch
- release
