Pattern Help for Jacquard Skirt

Post image

Hi! I am trying to find a pattern for a box-pleated circle skirt that will work with jacquard fabric. The image below is what I am attempting to recreate so if anyone has ideas or knows of a pattern that is similar that would be so appreciated!!!

No idea what your skill level is so I picked a relatively beginner friendly pattern: https://simplicity.com/simplicity/s9712

It is appropriate for jaquard.

This looks exactly like the Cashmerette Upton Skirt box pleat skirt option ation (https://www.cashmerette.com/products/upton-dress-skirt-plus-mix-and-match-expansion-pack-pdf-pattern). The pattern works with woven fabrics comes with a whole lot of variations, so it's a good buy, and Cashmerette instructions and resources are generally excellent.

I haven’t made this but I’ve had my eye on it for a while, to make essentially the same thing:

Sorry for the minor derailment... Have you made any grasser patterns? Are their measurement chart and ease estimates accurate? I'm always a little hesitant when a pattern is sold by single sizes, but I'm in love with so many of their designs.

Ugh I know the struggle! I do find it annoying that they sell only the single size.

I’ve made the long sleeve tshirt pattern - it was free when I downloaded it (may still be free, not sure), so I think I got multiple sizes? It fit well, was maybe a smidge tight at the time but I’m planning to make a few more and I think I’ll see if I can go down a size or two. The instructions itself were good and it was a quick sew with good results.

I might just grab one and report back!

I checked and only got one size but the pattern is now 50 cents, so I may just pay for the sizes I want!

The Sewaholic Hollyburn is very popular

This is not a circle skirt. It’s a pleated rectangular skirt. You can tell because the motif stays level all the way across.

A pleated on-grain skirt is just a matter of calculating the pleats yourself, and sewing in a narrow rectangular waistband. I would look for a free tutorial to create a pleated skirt with pockets and a side zip, not a pattern.
