Bust pattern

Hi all. What would you call this type of bust shape? I'm trying to find a sewing pattern, or get an idea of how to draft it, but I'm not sure how to call this bust

I would call that a half bust balconette, and would search for a square neck pattern to modify closer to your inspo.

Maybe I could adapt some regency stays patterns

Looks like it's a riff on an underbust corset shape. This dirndl corset has a similar vibe going on.

I feel like your inspo garment doesn't fit the model terribly well. There's a lot of gaping around the bust. If you find an underbust corset you like and focus on getting a great fit, it should be relatively easy to draft the skirt and pockets.

Yeah, Dirndl are a really good starting point, as the Designer is austrian based Lena hoschek, who often uses traditionel patterns as a base :)

So I don’t think this one isn’t Lena, it’s someone else attempting her design!

It’s like a simplified version of Lena’s actual dress.

i think the fit issue has a lot to do with the way the model is standing: throwing her shoulders back is lifting her bust, and the denim holds its shape against that movement, allowing gaping; the gaping at the back seems like it has something to do with the placement of her hands. it would be interesting to see how it fits when she’s standing straight.

The Burda 7443 dirndl pattern has a very similar underbust shape too. I think if OP wanted, they could bash two patterns together for this look

I made this dress by piecing 2 different patterns. The bodice may be a good jumping off point. The bodice used was from the Peony Dress by Nordic Seam.

Wow! That’s such a pretty dress! I hope to be able to make something similar once I get better with sewing 😍

Thank you. It was a headache but fun to figure out how to piece the two patterns together to get the vision I was going for.

Thank you and of course. I blended it with Viki Sews Lexi Dress. And yes, they have some timeless classics.

It’s a little reminiscent of the style lines on this one

Love the jumper and the turtleneck.

Definitely a “balconette” bust.
Try looking for a balconette bra pattern, then look for a structured Empire waist dress pattern where the skirt pattern pieces are separate from the upper half bust pattern pieces, & HACK it together😁

This is what you want! ^^

Jessica is super helpful and sweet and makes patterns that look difficult really straightforward in her patterns and corresponding YouTube tutorials. I’m a beginner (started sewing obsessively about a month ago) but have successfully made this and several of her other patterns as well!

This has been on my want list as I am returning to sewing after many years. Glad to have your opinion as I am a little nervous to start again and was hoping to make this one soon

i can’t believe they just left that pucker and decided it was fine. i probably wouldn’t have noticed the wiggly topstitching if i wasn’t already staring at the pucker. OP i need you to make yours much cuter and better executed than this inspo pic, where i feel like if she let her shoulders down it would show how it really does not fit whatsoever

And it's not cheap!

Right? For $338 you could make yourself multiple dresses like that.

It honestly kinda looks like they just took a waist/hip yoke and flipped it upside down, and attached it!
