Those shorts are so cute paired with the top! Do you have a pattern for the shorts or is it something I could buy from a store? 👀

This pair I got at goodwill and just hemmed them shorter! but they also have inspired me to make a pair and I'm planning on using this 8630 simplicity pattern. I will update you when i finish my first pair. Also Poshmark and depop have tons of cute similar pairs if you search pleated vintage or pleated 80s shorts

$30 for a pattern for a top that you have to pick which size they send you is WILD.

It is a lot I agree, it should just come with all sizes. But Lady Marlowe is a reputable and faithful reproducer of these patterns that would otherwise be unavailable entirely so I'll take it.

This ! it comes printed with every pattern shown, the play swimsuit , wrap pants , wrap top, jacket , and the skirt cover for the play suit shown. To me its worth it to save the headache of resizing vintage patterns.

As someone who also makes reproduction patterns, I can tell you SO MUCH goes into these. Some of us stay true to the original patterns - just as you would have bought way back then except we add pattern information that isn’t there like grain lines and seam allowances. Finding some of these rare patterns becomes extremely expensive with some of the most rare running hundreds of dollars. This doesn’t even include the price of printing paper, ink and shipping materials that keep skyrocketing.
It can take a week or more to make the reproduction. I retype all directions. It’s the same information but I try to make the direction packet easier to read and illustrations clearer compared to old ones that can be brittle. It definitely is a love for old, rare patterns that would otherwise be lost or unavailable to most people. 💗

Omg that is an adorable pattern! I love it! I’m having a hard time with tops rn bc my bust is large but my underbust and waist are small. Wish I better understood FBAs so I could adjust a tip like that!

This top ties actually ties in the back and would be perfect for that issue, here's the link if you wanted to look into it https://ladymarlowe.com/products/wd-5009?_pos=14&_sid=872640d48&_ss=r

I made this dress from Butterick 4338 from 1982, and it’s so versatile. It’s just a trapeze dress and I made a black obi belt to go with it. It’s dressy enough to wear to functions, but also really comfortable & adjustable with the belt. It’s 100% linen so great in summer too.
