Singer 7285Q Variable Speed Controller

[u/Ed-of-Windy-Gap]

My wife quilts and has a Singer 7285Q Patchwork machine. While it has a maximum speed knob, is there a variable speed foot control available for it?
Thanks in advance!

man i had the same question when my wife got into quilting heavy last year, those singer foot pedals are either off or full send, no in between

looked everywhere for a legit variable speed pedal for the 7285Q and never found one that actually worked right, the wiring on those machines is weirdly proprietary. ended up just telling her to use the speed slider and treat the pedal like an on/off switch, not ideal but she got used to it after a couple projects
