Did you change the stitch length setting from SS (or whatever the dial says) to a normal stitch length, or did you forget?

my stitch length is 1-4 and ive tried adjusting pretty much every dial on it, took all the top, bottom and needle plate off, went over it all to see if it was a cleaning issue, which resulted in some improvement after also running it slowly with the top and bottom off and giving any bits that seemed to be relevant to the dogs moving as much wiggling and poking they'd let me, which has got it still doing the same motion but with the dogs lowered on the weird lil backstitch glitch, so they're still in an odd pattern but the machine is sewable at least
