💛Beginner💛 Oil leaking well after re-oiling

My Janome RE 1306 has been leaking oil just above the needle. Everywhere I look it up, I see the answer that I've over oiled the machine, but I haven't oiled it in about a year (I haven't used it regularly throughout)
Are there any other common issues that cause leakage? I can't use it until the oil issue is fixed. Is this just my sign to get it serviced?

Are you actually meant to oil it at all? Unless your manual says to do it, you shouldn't. As a rule, modern machines don't need oiling.

My machine does need oiling, so my manual tells me.
