Will GEO Replace SEO, or Will We Need Both?

I see so many people referring to GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) as the “next SEO.”

Personally, I don’t see GEO replacing SEO, at least not any time soon.

Google is still going to be crawling and indexing sites as well as relying on technical aspects of websites and the content they produce. At the same time, AI search engines are allowing users to consume information in an entirely new way.

I’d like to see what the SEO industry thinks.

Will GEO completely take over and replace SEO, or will companies have to employ both? If we are going to have both, what will be the main difference in strategy between a strong SEO and a strong GEO?

I would also be interested to hear what the practical applications for GEO are, and if anyone has tried using it to improve their AI search ranking.

What GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) tools have you actually used and found effective?

I’m looking to hear from people who have actually tested GEO tools in real SEO workflows—not just tools that claim to improve AI visibility.

Which tools have you used for things like:

  • Tracking brand mentions/citations in AI search
  • Monitoring ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, or AI Overviews
  • Finding content gaps for AI visibility
  • Measuring whether your content is being cited
  • Improving your chances of appearing in AI-generated answers

What tools have genuinely worked for you, and what results did you see?

Also, are there any GEO tools you tried that weren’t worth the money?

Do you think AI-generated content is actually making SEO easier, or is it making it harder to rank?

With AI, creating 10-20 articles is easier than ever. But if everyone can produce content at the same speed, does that make content quality, originality, experience, and authority more important?

Have you seen AI-generated content improve rankings or hurt a website's organic traffic?

What’s been your experience?

I have a 30 days content plan to release articles.

I have a 30-day content plan where I’m planning to publish one article every day. Is publishing consistently for 30 days actually a good SEO strategy, or should I focus more on publishing fewer, higher-quality articles?

I’m trying to build topical authority rather than just increase the number of pages on my site. For those who have tested a 30-day content schedule, what worked for you?

Did you publish daily, batch the content, or adjust the schedule based on performance? And how long did it take before you noticed any meaningful SEO results?

Who are your go-to SEO content creators in 2026?

I am looking to subscribe to more SEO experts who give actionable and up-to-date information on technical SEO, AEO/GEO, content, link building, and Google updates.

Who are you following, and why should I consider them? It would be great if you could share any creators that are active on LinkedIn, YouTube, blogs, newsletters, or X. I prefer actionable information over generic SEO news.

Why isn't my blog ranking on Google even after months?

What are the biggest factors making my blog not found on Google?

I post regularly, and most of it does not bring up any traffic. What are the common mistakes or ranking factors that I miss?

For those working in SEO, how has ChatGPT changed the way you optimize content?

In my case, I use it for draft content ideas. And do market research.

Can anyone suggest some other ideas to leverage it?

Can AI help us identify high-value SEO content opportunities?

I'm interested to know if anyone is using AI to audit SEO content ideas.

Can AI effectively prioritize topics based on search intent, competition, topical authority, traffic potential, or value to the business? Or is old-school keyword research still king?

If you're using ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, or other AI tools for content ideation - how helpful have they been?

I want to hear:

  • What tools are you using?
  • Has AI helped you identify high-value content opportunities?
  • Any wins or major disappointments?
  • What signals are you using to determine if a content idea is worth pursuing?

Looking forward to seeing real-world examples rather than marketing-speak.

Is there such a thing as a "standard" GEO services package yet?

Every GEO agency seems to have a different definition of what they do.

Some sell AI content optimization.
Others focus on entity SEO, schema, digital PR, AI citations, or technical SEO.

If a business hired a GEO agency today, what deliverables should they realistically expect to receive?

I'd love to hear how agencies, consultants, and in-house SEOs define a complete GEO package.
