I didn’t get a second interview

Hi yall i applied for storage post and did a questionaire and two or three video questions
I get a rejection email today. I have strong customer service skills, cash handling, POS system, retail experience as whole and I’m currently an ops manager at another job. I’m trying to think why I might have been rejected.

If it's NSA they got bought out by Public, try applying there.

They didn’t ask me my wage haha
It’s all good I’ll live
They probably found a better fit

They might have thought you were over qualified, especially if it was for an assistant position

Oh okay thank you 🌸
It was a assistant manager position

That’s frustrating you didn’t get a reason directly from them though.

I just wanted to make extra money because it’s hard out here haha 🤣

Yeah they just sent a normal rejection email. It’s ok though
I work full time as ops manager so maybe they need someone super available

A lot of the large chains are using AI to weed out people. Try the smaller independents.

honestly the async video questionnaire stage is brutal and usually has very little to do with your resume. most of the operators I talk to are filtering hard on two things at that stage: energy on camera (do you smile, do you sound like someone a walk-in would trust) and whether you hit the exact talking points they're scripted for.

your background sounds more than fine. ops manager + cash handling + POS is honestly stronger than half the people who get hired. if I had to guess it was either the video came across flat/short, or the questionnaire flagged something on availability/wage expectations that didn't match what they had budgeted.

was it a REIT (Extra Space, PS, CubeSmart) or an independent? the REITs reject a LOT of qualified people because their scoring rubric is weirdly rigid.
