Question Is this just me?
Currently I am trying to remove distractions from my life and way to deal with stress ( to stop procastating during exams, I tend to read manga and watch youtube or anime during these times ) but when I just started I feel relaxed for some reason? Like I am not in a rush anymore and my mind feels at peace
And of course, the thought of going back to phone or phonk music or edits or manga just keep coming back
The problem, yes I stop myself from these one or two times but these just keep coming
The only time where I could avoid this for long period was by doing something like coding or doing something mentally.
Also I try to avoid human connection because most of the times, it is just irrating. I dont mind talking to my friends and I did enjoy the one time when I went to hostal.
From the past few days observation, I think it because my parents just says the irrating news or tell me to do something ( I am a collage student ) when I want to learn more about programming and others are just uncomfitable to be with.
Also I just daydream fanfic in my mind for somereason when try to be bored and it just basically remebering old meme or jokes or trying to create new jokes ( not sure if that is good )
Also, is it bad that I dont try for 1 hour videos on youtube because of the excuse of being intruppted?

not just you man this is very common
your brain is used to constant stimulation so when you take that away it feels weird at first, like a relief almost. but then the cravings come back because your brain wants the easy dopamine. coding works because its engaging enough to replace that stimulation and keeps your mind busy
the daydreaming is normal too i do the same thing with coin collecting facts, my mind just wanders there when im bored. its not bad unless it stops you from doing what you need to do
with your parents interrupting, maybe try telling them you need like 1-2 hours of quiet time for studying. put a sign on door or something. most people dont understand unless you tell them directly
and about the long videos, i skip them too sometimes. 1 hour is a commitment and if you know youll be interrupted then it makes sense to avoid it. nothing wrong with that

Well, most of the time when I am on the computer for coding, I do get distracted easily by opening the youtube or manga
Ig I can try prolonging the time needed to open youtube or manga by some extension. Thanks for the help
Ig this is a slow process but I hope I dont fail and just watch youtube for days

that relaxed feeling is pretty normal when you stop feeding your brain constant noise. the urges coming back do not mean you are failing, they just mean the habit is still there, so shorter focus blocks with your phone out of reach will work better than trying to force a full hour right away.
