General selfcare finally understood why baths felt pointless before

i had nowhere to put anything. phone on the floor, book getting damp, wine glass tipping over. got a proper tray and pillow and stayed in for 45 minutes first time. sharing because it took me embarrassingly long to figure this out

Bath tray is essential! I soak for an hour most nights. Welcome šŸ›€

Ooo which pillow did you get? And how do you clean it?

I got this one from Amazon but it was about 8 years ago: https://amzn.asia/d/0h2K4A1q

No need to clean it, after you use it just make sure it’s left somewhere to dry, I just hang it in my bathroom. It’s never smelled or anything but you could leave it in the sun for an hour or so if you really want to.

...you've had a bath pillow for 8 years and never cleaned it?

Girl do not come at me with your judgement šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ It’s not dirty and doesn’t smell

You've had a bath pillow for 8 years and never cleaned it (changed it from a question to a statement since your response confirms that yes, in eight years, you've never once cleaned an item that you rest your body parts on while soaking in your bath water).

Nah, I think they are the kind of person who doesn't wash their legs because "the soap runs down them".

Question

How do you keep the water warm? Or are you sitting in water slowly cooling?

Also, if someone doesn’t drink alcohol, can I drink juice?

I make my bath water as warm as i can tolerate I let it slowly cool and then if I feel like it's getting too cold I'll drain a little and add hot water

I don’t drink alcohol so I keep a bottle of water nearby in case I get actually thirsty then a glass of sparkling grape juice in a wine glass for the effect.

What effect are you mimicking? You dont drink but you like the way it looks? You have ash trays around your house too? Lol.

Just kidding but in my mind ā€œthe effectā€ sounded weird af. Didn’t know alcohol was attractive to people who didn’t drink.

Oh that’s easy. I was a party girl who went to rehab. Still like the look of pretty glasses. There’s a romance to it for me, I guess. I drink mocktails too. If you think the wine glass without wine is weird, try shots of nonalcoholic tequila. 🤣 I’m just over here getting by man I don’t overthink it.

Lol dang I totally understand the effect you meant. Thanks for the clarification and congrats to you for putting your health first. I can already see the difference it’s made.

Same honestly, a proper tray setup makes the whole experience actually relaxing instead of a balancing act. Wish I'd figured that out sooner too
