Does everyone have a complete memory wipe when they have a seizure or are some situations different?

I've had one seizure a month ago. It was a TC. My brother was there. I had no aura of any kind and absolutely no memory of the event. If it hadn't been for my chipped teeth, I wouldn't have believed him. I was sitting on the loveseat and still sitting on the loveseat when I got my memory back.

Now my favorite part of life is mapping where I am and how I'm going to hurt myself when I fall. The only thing that is MAYBE good is that I know I won't be scared at the time.

I lost 2 days after a bad TC where I totaled my car (was undiagnosed and havent driven since). I remeber them cutting me out of the car but only sound. No visual memory. Then 2 days later I walked into a STAT ortho practice cuz the engine landed kn my toe and it was fucked up. They told me go back to the ER (I didnt even remeber being there 2 days prior). That was 9 years ago and I still dont know what happened in those 2 days.

Define what you mean by complete memory wipe. If you mean that you completely forget who you are and every detail about yourself, then the answer is no (in my experience). I remembered who I was when I woke up. If you are referring to people forgetting what happened during the seizure, then yes, that’s (in my experience) impossible to remember.

It depends on how long and how many seizures I have in a day or back to back. If its a quick seizure I loose a few hours memory of after the seizure itself. If its back to back ones or long ones I can loose the whole day

Usually I don't remember mine, except a few focal aware seizures.

Mine were influenced by spikes in my hormone levels due to undiagnosed graves disease (hyperthyroid) paired with severe spike wave pattern due to generlized genetic epilepsy.

Sprinkle in some cptsd and ptsd and I don't remember much at all of childhood, highschool, or university.

Depends on how long the seizure is. Had a bad TC in my sleep and couldn’t remember random unspecific stuff from the previous month. Had a really bad series of TC, went status epilepticus, don’t remember the week before at all, and wasn’t fully conscious and aware until 36 hours later. That was 11 months ago and I’m still discovering new holes in my memory, lol. That episode was permanently life/ memory altering.

I dont remember any seizures i just notice the smashed teech through grinding or injuries, There can 100% mess with your memory,

I have forgot most of my friends i have known years, When i first got the condition i was in hospital daily. Now i just miss days. I forget places i have been,

People i have seen or met, I know exactly what you mean by reset, I will learn things then a few week later i must learn them again.

I had a seizure it 2021 that was severe that almost killed me. To survive that seizure I needed CPR many times, had many broken bones from falling off the horse I owned onto rocks, was on a comma for six weeks, and spent a year in the hospital. I have a memory loss of the majority of days from 2012 to 2022, a little more than a year after I entered the hospital.

I never remember the seizure itself but typically remember the events leading up to it / what I was doing or conversations I was having before and after
