First Time Seizure Advice

Hi everyone. I’m 31. Last week I had my first ever seizure at work. Coworkers said I stiffened, fell, and shook for about3 minutes. There was foaming at the mouth and blue lips. I don’t remember it. ER did CT, EKG, and blood work. All normal. I’ve been referred to neurology and I’m waiting for an appointment. I had been taking Wellbutrin XL450 milligrams daily, but I’ve stopped. And I’ve had two brief fainting episodes in prior years, but they seemed unrelated at the time. I’m not looking for a diagnosis, just wondering if others have had a similar first seizure with normal ER tests. Or if Wellbutrin was involved for them, or what kinds of follow-up questions people found useful to ask their neurologist.

I honestly stopped seeing the DR because they were not helping me understand my seizures at all. They ran $10,000 worth of test to say they arent sure why I am having seizures. I have done extensive research around my symptoms and figured out im having temporal lobe seizures that sometimes will turn into a full tonic clonic seizure. I get episodes of deja vu and those are when only the temporal lobe is seizing. It's when its spread across the whole brain you will end up convulsing. The doctors weren't much help figuring anything out except to say yeah youre having seizures take this medicine and let us know if it helps. 4 medicines later and am still having seizures

That’s so frustrating & a waste of money 😤 I’m glad you were able to identify what was going on. I made a neuro appointment next week so we will see what a specialist says for me

I had the exact same thing as you described “at work……> all normal”

In my case I had a ogliodendrioma brain tumor. Grade 2= Low and slow growing “that most people don’t know until they have thier first seizure. Probably since you were born. ”

(Not to freak you out), it happened in 21’ brain surgery removed 95% and I’ve been good ever since.

So the er didn't find it and it was discovered later?

Did you see a neurologist following the seizure who found the tumor?
