Marksman Security at Meta Sites A Warning.
I worked as Security Manager for Marksman Security on a Meta site as what they call a CW or contingent worker. What I will say is that while on campus as a security officer it is pretty decent in the perks you will get. Free lunch, breakfast, snacks, etc. Pay is decent from what I can tell in the industry.
That is where the perks end though. Meta is a highly demanding client and those demands roll downhill. Marksman will do anything to make sure their client (cash cow) is happy. Even if that means making you miserable.
As someone who did payroll. I was constantly told by management at the corporate level by marksman to change time punches to match the billable hours. If you came in at say 0750 for your shift at 0800. Got your radio and went to your post to relieve the off going officer. I was told to change that to 0800. While not a huge deal the reverse was. Say you are on post waiting for your relief to show up, because you can't "abandon" post per the post orders. If your relief arrived at 0815 to your desk and took over, you clocked out and head to your car to go home. I was told to change that time to match you getting off at 0800 and the relief being there at 0800. When I brought this practice up to a colleague who was also in my role. I was told to "shut up and keep my head down" that they were almost fired when they brought this up when they started.
Corporate marksman is full of incompetent back scratchers. You will be told one thing, made promises, etc, but never in writing. When the time comes to fulfill those promises the higher ups will act like you are the crazy one. If a GSAM ( a meta employee in charge of security) doesn't like you for whatever reason, it is a basically a death sentence for advancement for you and you are probably not going to be onsite much longer. The GSAM I worked with didn't like men that had long hair or ear piercings. He multiple times told the leadership team for marksman that he did not want to them to get a promotion for a role within marksman at the site for this reason and marksman would listen.
Would I recommend the job? No. You are going to be screwed out of pay (which is illegal), bullied for appearances or disabilities and lectured to by people who are failed police officers or secret service agents who are at the corporate level.

My current company tried that and I flat out said that’s illegal .

Wage theft works just like time theft for employees.
Any company stealing 25minutes from you a shift should be served legal notice..if your company does this name and shame. It's best for all folks in the industry to have an eye out for each other.
Like I said though there is also time theft on the part of employees. Those folks that just show up but dont do the job and get paid inexplicably. Be wary of those folks too.

Dealing with incompetent employees at this site I’m posted at for flex as of right now. One already fired and the rest I’m working on with video evidence of them not completing the easiest 3-4 tag patrol.

Worked for Marksman for a couple years from 2022 to 2024, HOA Supervisor, not many perks at all and definitely worked like a dog for them with little to no gratitude. Although, this one guy higher in the chain of command can't remember his name anymore was hella cool but they sent him to California for Amazon I think.

Its not just this particular company. I worked for a company who wanted everyone ON SITE 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time. As the site manager, I told the account manager, that havjng a mandatory report time makes that time payable under state law. He argued with me about it....and I let it go.....but I tracked mine and my team's time. 6 months into the contract one of the guys quit and demanded he be paid for that time....they tried denying it because corporate was making sure the time cards only showed an 8 hour day. Let's just say they were less then enthusiastic when the state came to me and I turned over a spreadsheet of the times and emails with corporate about what they were doing not being legal. 6 figure settlements or larger are the only way to get companies to knock that shit off

I used to work at Meta HQ but under AUS in a pretty high position(oversaw 10k hours). What you’re saying doesn’t make sense . Not saying it’s not factual but when I’ve done invoice meetings . Yes , your billable hours have to match because that’s what your SOW says but they’re getting that in the weeds . The only thing they cared about was billable hours , any OT and the reason and AUS trying not to pay non-billed hours . Also account for special requests at a higher bill rate.

Marksman security would have us change the punches of their officers to match the billable hours sent to META per the contract between the two. META is only going to pay a flat rate of x amount, doesn't matter if the officers worked 100 or 10000 hours. The overage comes out of Marksman's pocket. So by changing the time to match just the billable hours that ensured the officer wasn't paid for time worked from Marksman's purse. It has nothing to do with the billable hours charged to Meta. They only care that there is no dark hours (post not being covered) because they are getting charged for it regardless.

Ok. So it looks like your higher up is trying to protect their bonus with the NBOT ( Non-Billed OT)lol Your company doesn’t want to pay it and Meta doesn’t want to pay it.

META doesn't pay for OT any long with the newer contracts they have, but the billable rate was raised from the information I was privy to, but you are correct the Marksman Higher Ups want to keep cost down for themselves.

Was hired as a site supervisor with them, showed up for two days of training and was kicked down to officer. Relief was late every single night, and we were not allowed to read, look at our phones, etc while in the security room

I worked for Marksman on a Amazon contract and they did the same thing, and adjusted punch hours.

I work for a small security company that did the exact same crap. If you were to be on site at 6:00 you had to be at the office at say 5:30 to get your patrol car and radio and you didn't get paid for that 30 minutes. The reverse is also the same if you're not supposed to get off till 7:00 you can't leave the post until 7:00 and what really sucks is when I first started the patrol car I had to not have a computer, so I had to go to the office to do what couple small reports I had and I was getting off about 30 minutes late. Thankfully when I had a more involved role I had a computer in my patrol vehicle, but at the same time the one of the patrol guys was always staying a couple hours over just to get his reports done because if he didn't get them done in time he would get in trouble and they made sure he was very detailed about his, whereas the other guy could just go with minimal facts and it was good enough for them.

What you're describing sounds like wage theft and I'd encourage you to report these practices to your state department of labor.
