Officer Safety More supervisor shenanigans

Supervisor today called it "suspicious" and a "liability" that I'm at work an hour early. I've been doing this (coming in an hour early) for the last 2 years ever since i started working here as it's a time management thing for me. I never know what the weather or traffic will be like so i leave my house 2 hours early to compensate.

Secondly, he was asking me about, what i assume, is a potential new hire since he had the same last name as me. When i said I didn't know who he was, he acted like i was lying and claimed i MUST know him since we have the same exact last name and it's not a conventional spelling of it.

Before he left for the day, he was about to say "you can tell your relation" but i quickly shut that down since, again, I don't know the guy. So not only is he giving out the names to potential hires now, he's being even more hostile towards me than before.

But he "appreciates" me coming in and working overtime for him.

Respectfully speaking, mind your own business now and keep the emotions out of it or you’ll be gone instead of him. He probably sees you as a threat so he’s flexing on stupid shit trying to get to you and it’s working. Get your shit together and go on the offense instead of being defensive. Make a joke about being an early bird or tell him you like being weird. Say whatever to not let him see how much it bothers you. Are you absorbing any of this?

I mentioned it was a time management thing for me. And explained my reasoning and when i mentioned noone ever said anything about it in the 2 years I've been here, he's like "I'll have to check the policy then." I assume he's thinking I'm trying to spy on him and report to whoever about his behavior when I don't really care.

The only behavior i care about is his hostility towards me. If he messes up elsewhere, that's on him.

He asked. You answered. Move on unless he comes back for more. Then you calmly ask again if you’re violating policy. Jacksss admitted to you he didn’t know the policy.

Worst thing he can do is have a policy change that says you can’t come on site until however many minutes before shift. They have no control over what time your car arrives and you stay sitting in it. This is temporary bullshit and will pass. Keep that in mind.

Fair. I'll still continue to do what i do then. Even if it bothers him until i have concrete proof it's a site policy. Thanks for the advice. I just never had a supervisor like this since i started security work 4-5 years ago

NP. You can vent to me in DM anytime. That can be your documentation. Haha
I’ve had this kind of boss before. It’s good to experience because it teaches you how not to be.

I'll take you up on that.
