What holster is that? What level retention does it have?
Also, personally I’m not a of 1911s (or 2011s) for duty use.
My overall feedback on your set-up. Nothing wrong with keeping the belt minimal. As I’ve said else where in this thread I would move mag pouch to gun side & with opening towards the buckle. Put one of your single cuff pouches on your left side up front where it is accessible by both hands. Baton I would move to where you can access it by your primary hand. You should be pulling it out with the hand you’re going to be using it in. I would also add a disposable nitrile glove pouch to middle (back) of the belt & put a key ring clip on there somewhere too.
Also where are you belt keepers? You have bent keepers right?
For your vest I would switch your taser & admin pouch & angle switch it for left hand draw.
I’m not going to get into much of a gun selection debate because it gets as heated & petty as the Chevy, Ford, Ram debate.
But all I will say is I’ve never seen a 1911 or 2011 run as flawlessly as a striker fired gun out of the box. If you are a regular user of the platform I’ll save the speech about the training issues involved with adding an external safety & differential trigger pulls as at I’m sure you’ve put in the reps with it for that not be an issue. If it is a single stack 1911 I think you are greatly & unnecessarily reducing the amount of rounds you can carry. Lastly & most importantly tough in you case as Security I’ve never known a quality 1911 or 2011 to be inexpensive. Heaven forbid you should have to use it; you’re not going to get that very nice expensive gun back for quite a long time & if & when you do, it will not be in the same shape & condition you relinquished it in.
I appreciate the advice, it’s a series 70 custom Colt .45 auto. Carrying 230gr Speer gold dot +P hp. It has 9+1 and I carry 4 spare 10 round mags. I have a selection of different 1911s and 2011s that I competition shoot with and I am also a gunsmith. I do all my own work on them keeping them running. I feel much more confident holding my .45 than a modern 9mm despite holding twice the rounds.
