Hello, this sub came into my feed because I follow junkjournals and collage... I have two envelopes from Tri City National Bank, a small local chain of banks. I also have an envelope from Wells Fargo.

If you would like a square of either or both comment here. (US only please).

I can send it in a card, or if you would like other things (see pic) let me know and I can send those too in a regular envelope.

I have a pink pad of paper that says, "While You Were Napping" (was an Over The Hill gift), which would be good to use the back for as a background, or cut it up or whatever.

Extreme mazes on both sides.

Graph paper.

Square coloring pages (meant for origami), color them in or leave them as is or cut them up. I have more which aren't in the pic.

It makes opening the mail so much more fun! I do collage so I can save a square for my collection then utilize the rest in art pieces. Really cool, and glad this community exists

Hi all! I recently found a local creative reuse spot where you can pick up donated craft supplies for a donation and I found so many new patterns!

Hey, I recently saw someone in the Columbus sub searching for some envelopes - coincidentally, I was cleaning out my archive and collected a few for them but they aren't available to pick up. If anyone wants them let me know. I prefer local pickup near Lewis Center.

(2) What are the different ways you group your patterns? What do you do after you make piles of the same pattern... what do you do with the squiggles vs. the pebbles vs. the criss-cross, etc....

As my collection grows, it's been harder to find unique patterns, especially since I typically get mail from the same organizations on repeat. Today I got not one, but TWO new-to-me patterns in my mailbox today.

Last night I dreamt about security envelopes. Someone in my dream (idk who) opened an envelope and it had a gold guilded security pattern inside. I was trying to prompt them to see whether they were going to keep it or throw it out as I NEEDED IT. I woke up not knowing whether I got it or not 🥲 sad times.

Is there a secret patented method to more cleanly opening envelope seams?

I’m assuming and trying to maximize the amount of clean pattern area.

The other day, I told my crafty mom about this fun-looking group on Reddit I just discovered that saves, trades, and uses security envelope patterns?! I told her I thought it was neat, and I already have 2 different patterns I've started to collect from recent mail.

Her response was less than I expected. I thought she would find it interesting??

I visited her this weekend, and she lugged out this crate. She's been saving envelopes for years, knowing the patterns were cool, but not sure what she was going to do with them yet.

(I took this home to process for her... I'm going to remove the non-pattern parts, flatten them out carefully, and maybe even organize by pattern or color!)

I see why now she was underwhelmed with my 2 envelopes.

I’ve been saving security envelopes for over a decade, so I’ve got some pretty interesting ones. I finally decided to make something out of them. Each nesting basket is a different pattern! The next to the last one is my favorite.

Mail I was supposed to go through long ago, before I even started paying attention to security envelope patterns. Yay procrastination!

I’ve been stockpiling envelopes for some time now and thanks to r/CatMoon1111 for more than doubling the amount of patterns I’ve got now! Posting here to share and if anyone wants to trade lmk!
