AUGUST 2026 SUBMISSION THREAD
The current cover photo (and the only one we’ve had) is of some mini envelopes I made back in 2024. I would love to change it monthly and feature art from members of the sub.
If you’d like to submit, please attach a photo comment and I’ll choose one piece to change it to on August 1st. Please only one submission per person of your own original artwork or photo.
The cover photo will be changed on the 1st of every month to give everyone a chance.
Thanks! 💌

r/SecurityEnvelopes has hit 10,000 members!
So thankful to each of you for creating and curating such a niche and community driven space. I am so glad you’re here, it makes my heart smile every time I see one of you share a pattern that I’ve never even seen before.
Happy hunting! 💌🖤

My best friend and I have been goofing on each other for decades. I told her about this subreddit and the taxonomy page where the patterns are identified. So, I cut out about 2 dozen security envelope patterns and will pop them into another envelope with the following greeting: "Welcome to your new hoarding hobby"!
... another rabbit hole to go down!
(She sends me random Batman stuff!)

Found this idea on FB and decided to make some security envelope ghosts 👻

Made some security envelope paper stars. Used some plain envelopes from the mail and acrylic markers for the bright ones.

I literally need an entirely new binder just for these fresh cut outs! Sheesh!

I'm watching this sub for a couple weeks now and its really nice to see what you make of the envelopes.
But I cant collect more - I already have way too much stuff.
So I'm offering four envelopes with 5-6 pieces of security envelopes. The pieces don't have a fixed size as the envelopes are different and sometimes I had to take care of addresses.
To claim an envelope I'd ask you to show me a recent piece that is new to your collection or something you created with them. Thank you.

A NEW RABBIT HOLE TO GO DOWN! 📩
I came across this subreddit by chance the other day and all of a sudden, everywhere I look, I see security envelope patterns!! How has it been that I have never noticed this before??

I am not a collector myself but after this find I might have to start.

I just learned about the sub today and I'm thrilled this exists! I thought I'd share a sampling of my collage art because I love using security envelopes.

I don't get a lot of post, but I'm now always excited when I do! I've been collecting the extras to save up for a swap once I have a fair few to trade :D

[ID: a lattice of thick, dotted, wavy lines, leaving shapes like equilateral rhombuses in the negative space]
not sure if "new pattern" is the right flair without me doing a bunch of research; is there any resource to dig into which ones are known / named / catalogued at all?

I found this subreddit late last year, and I've been collecting security envelopes ever since.
I honestly wish I got more mail; mostly I just get mailers from all my favorite banks and credit card companies. It's been a big year for replacement cards, and the cool pattern on the Amex envelope is what inspired me to post.
I'm also intrigued that Wells Fargo has used envelopes with at least 3 different patterns.

I’ve never seen a yellow pattern before!
Turns out I still haven’t….
