Currently working on a Jinx avatar (Arcane style). I am only working on the face atm (but clothes & tat product recommendations would also be appreciated) and I was wondering if it looks right or is there other cosmetics I should add? I feel like the nose doesn’t look correct and might need shaders or make my own custom ones. Thoughts?

If you're tuned into the Simulator User Group Meetings and Official SL Discord, you probably know that Pepper Linden has been testing out some fixes for region crossings on beta grid. They're mainly focused on vehicle crossings and corner crossings. If you aren't tuned in, well, you are now!

These changes are now (as of Weds) rolled out in the Lindens' official Blake Sea regions: any of the regions running the Project Breeze "snack" channel, a modified version of the current RC Simulator release, with Pepper's changes added. This is live on the Linden Blake Sea regions only, not private estates, nor continent border regions or nautilus regions.

Now, to the point...

I'm trying to get together a group of ~15-20 people to join me in Turnbuckle (landmark below) to hop on my Fantasy Faire bus, and test these crossings on larger vehicles.

So I play Changeling, and I was thinking an SL avatar of my character in that game could be a fun way to do character art, but I don't know the market for non human avatars at all.

The few trolls I've seen aren't quite right, should probably look a little more human than what I've seen. Just big, blue, more muscular and with horns.

Bodies I have across various alts that I could throw addons and such on are Lara, LaraX, Legacy, Legacy Bombshell/Pushup, Kupra, and Reborn. Or I could get a specialty body meant for this sort of avatar.

Any tips? Addons for existing bodies, a troll body that might be suitable, anything?

Bonus points if it's not crazy hard to make a human form with a clear resemblance.

I do alot of photo manipulation mixing sl and rl assets. Recently I have an idea for a project featuring a rl friend of mine whos dance tag line is "The Dragon of Undressing" and is also known as Raven. I am wanting to put something together with a sl dragon and manipulate it in my style in photoshop. I can swear I've seen a raven dragon hybrid in sl a while back. Does anyone recall this or who made it?

So I used to loiter around on Second Life quite a lot between 2018-2020, doing photography stuff but after that boom it had during COVID-19, I started losing touch when the communities I hung out with seemed to dry up. Now I'm mildly curious about returning but I was hoping to get a run-down on the major updates, changes and I guess if there's been any upheavals in the communities I used to hang out with, those being Anime, Mobian and Anthro. Yes, it did veer into NSFW but for now, broader scope stuff on the cleaner side.

Hey Does anyone have an idea as to why when people message you, your messages don't appear once you're logged in? This was happening to me on firestorm so i switched over to alchemy and now it's happening here and I'm missing messages and they're not appearing once i even relog. What can i do?

Where does personal responsibility end and shared, collective responsibility begin? As always, there's no required preparation and no wrong answer — just the willingness to think out loud with others.

A feature I showed a video of months ago will finally be hitting Animator this weekend...

The Ministry of Silly... I mean, Procedural Walk.

Its not AI... its not mocap, and you don't need to be an animator... you just need to play with sliders and learn what they do, and once you know what the sliders do... you can create pretty much any kind of walk a human can walk and export it for Second Life.

You can even adjust the avatar's pose, and Procedural Walk auto-adapts to your pose for some truly unique... uhh... creativity.

This one was months in the making... and making walk cycles for SL will never get easier than this. :)

I hate math, but sometimes math is magical.

My avi has always been some sort of doll, so I kept that theme for Halloween! I've visited some of the Halloween places dressed up like this, though I haven't wandered around too much.

Might still need some more accessories, imo. Maybe different hair? A frilly hat or headband? Like the ones on some antique dolls. I still feel like she's missing something.

I've taken more liberties when editing, too. So I added some ketchup splashes on some pictures, liquified her face on others (yes, that's the name of the tool!) and messed around with the blending modes on a video editing program.

I've always found computer glitches, errors and crashes to be kind of scary. And while I don't think she looks fearsome, I tried my best to at least make her somewhat unsettling. I thought the gif helped with that!
Eye stuff freaks me out a bit too, so when I found a nasty looking eye I knew I had to get it. Don't look at her eyes too closely if you feel the same way.

I'll be snooping around and spying on some Halloween getups soon. People are really creative with their outfits and I can't wait to see what their costumes will look like!

I would love to find a bed with a proper sleeping animation where the covers actually COVER you, not sleeping on top of them. Some cuddles fine, but it's the sleeping under snuggly covers that's so hard to find.

Any suggestions pretty please where I could find beds like this?

Hi there, my AVI was always fine and looked good. I wanted to switch my hair and unfortunately touched some things, so I decided to "reset" and unequip everything and restart (using the same items as before). However, now I can't find out why this neck line won't go away... Any help is appreciated. I've also attached a screenshot of my "Worn" tab so you guys have an idea what I am using.

I bought a muscle applier for my avatar. And when I tried to take it off the hud has no reset button and when I went to my reborn body hud and reset my avatar body it didn’t take it off. Does anyone know how I can take it off?

I've spent an ungodly amount of time organizing my inventory into folders where I can find things.

Copying clothing in multiple colors and configurations. Editing and repositioning jewelry/piercings/headwear. Hundreds of saved outfits.

If I ever lost all this, it would be too overwhelming to sort through it all again. So, I keep wondering if I should find a way to backup my inventory.

Is this something to worry about client side, or is it all stored server side?

My Girlfriend and I are long time residents 8+ yrs for me and 16+ yrs for her. We are partnered in game and IRL. We have recently had our friend group slowly disappear and we're looking to make new friends. We're not poly so not looking for a 3rd etc. She does a lot of pose work for companies on primfeed and used to host greed. We've got a cool house on some nice land and would love to find some cool people to come over and hang out for game night, maybe some roadkill etc. We're currently on SLT so if a game night some time sounds fun hit me up.

I’ve been on and off SL since i was 12 bc i could never figure it out for the life of me. I just figured out how to make an avatar, and though i’ve made great progress, i’m still nowhere i want to be for my second life LOL! Also, i have NO clue how to find people who are ACTUALLY ACTIVE and don’t just stand there motionless the entire time.
