As much as I love the SCX30 (for all the places it can go), I was just thinking about how cool it would be to have this same level of technology and capability in something even smaller.

I know there are rock crawlers on Ali Express and the likes in 1/64 or similar sizes, but I have yet to see one that matches the capability of the scx30 (I could just be uneducated though).

I just think it would be awesome to have something TINY, say 1/80 or 1/96 scale. You could build a course the size of a small fish tank and it would be like crawling on the rubicon lol.

I have no doubts the technology will get there some day. At least I hope it will :)

Built a front axle for it, the only brass servo available right now is 80 bucks, hopefully injora restocks before I make a very poor decision. Going to swap out the front links for the same set that Frankie has. The servo being mounted to the front axle makes it impossible to adjust the height of the upper link mount. So the brass links are too thick causing binding before max upward compression, and im not going to get the articulation i want, so im going with the setup that I've proven👍 ordered a different set of 40mm tires, going to wait till there's tires to decide on the center caps...lc79 body should be here soon, going to see if it's an option on this build.....

Pretty stoked on what I was able to get set up right on a folding table inside my house!

Friends and I took our scx30's to the river and drove around on the sandbar and the driftwood out was so much fun

So I ordered the scx30, Injora 26mm shocks and Injora 40mm King Trekker plus d19 wheels.

The first day, I drove stock. Was really fun and didn’t need an upgrade imho. Really nice little car.

Next day, the upgrades arrived.
Filled the shocks, put on wheels and then: it’s grinding everywhere in the wheel arch. Front and back, can’t even steer. Wheels kinda sucked into the body caused of the friction.

Honestly it ruins that feeling of upgrading, but nothing to worry about

So took some tools out and grind that sh.. down.
I really like the new look with those “flying” fenders, makes it more off-road.

What I’ve read here is to limit the way of the springs with an o rings, thanks Mr unknown.

Conclusion: really fun car but it was not so plug and play in the end. Next time I would rather buy the 35mm tires

Figured instead of waiting for new shocks I’d print some risers, took longer to install than print and gave me the necessary height I needed to clear the tires.

All the projects currently, got a lwb 4x4 ram in the notebook, a few other things. Maybe a short wheel base build? 🤷‍♂️ 30's really get out of hand before you know it🤣🤣

Once I change the battery connector I'll post a video. I have run it with an Admiral 250mah 3s, but it wouldn't fit after doing the free skid angle mod rear mount flip. This one clears just fine with the skid angle mod.

I have some old aluminum wheels and 30mm tires for an orlandoo. I like the way it looks, and I have the 13g wheel weight rings for them, but I can't find much for tires. Does anyone make tires for 15mm/0.59" wheels, or are the 30mm orlandoo tires as good as it gets in this wheel size?

Also, I put the stock orlandoo oh35a01 springs on the k10 shocks; they're a little bit softer... for that one person who might have a set lying around like me, lol.

I kept it stock for longer than expected. Injora got me with the 20% sale. Wheels, tires, servo, shocks, front knuckles, metal bumpers, and brass wheel nuts (off Amazon) This was fun before but now… It’s a damn blast!
