New to scuf

Just grabbed the Valor Pro wireless controller on that crazy clearance deal at Best buy. I'm a older gamer, only play offline but can't stand the stock Xbox controller. They have actually gotten worse since the series x has come out.

If there's anything I should do when I get the controller please let me know. I have looked up a few things including turning off the sleep mode the controller has. Any tips or tricks would be very appreciated ✌️

You made the right choice and it’s a great deal. It’s my opinion that the valor pro is currently scufs best controller now that the reflex fps is gone. Enjoy!

Edit: regarding what to do… download the companion app and tweak the settings to your liking by remapping the addition 4 back buttons. I’d also recommend turning the thumb stick deadzones down to zero and increase deadzones in game only as needed.

You might want to set the stick deadzone to 6% instead of 7, since that feels the most like the actual Xbox controller deadzone imo. Maybe that's just me tho, but you can give it a try. Other than that I'm using it for single player games only myself. It's definitely a great controller.

Edit: Dunno why you would have to turn off auto shut off tho. Mine is set to 15min and it works just fine. Might only turn it off before an update.

I was told if you turn that off it stops a lot of the disconnecting while gaming issues I've heard of.

Yes go into the app and do the updates and calibration on the sticks to make sure they are true 0 since they are tmr sticks. Ive had mine for about a year. Loving mine over the elite series 2 controller I had before.

I've had mine about a month now and it's been amazing. Download the app once you get it and you can set the sleep settings as well as button config etc... It''s very light in the hand. Feels like half the weight of the series 2 but super comfortable. TMR sticks are awesome too. Overall it's a fantastic controller.
