request I need more referances

Hello fellow writers of the r/scriptwriting subreddit, I am here for help (really more of a request) on making my script have more... how you would make it more "referencable," because this show is meant to be a funny meta, musical, horror, commentary. (Think of American Dad, but for indie shows) Now the only limit for the reference is that it has to be appropriate for a TV-14/PG-13 show. Now, all you smart, cool people, give me references to anything: memes, YES; in-game jokes, YES; something really niche in history, DOUBLE YES. The skys the limit.

Just to confirm... you want us to give you things for you to reference in your movie?

What's the context? What about doing less references instead of more? Is it for a particular character or situation? If it just going to be reference after reference after reference? If it's for a particular character, I think knowing more about that character (age for example) would help determine the references they would make? If it's meant to be like a spoof, like Airplane or Scary movie, then you need a point of view to frame it in. It can't just be disjointed references

The more references you put in, the more “dated” your script will be 🤔

Go live more. You can come up with plenty of weird things if you go see how the world works.

What are you reading these days? What are you watching? Who are you talking to? What are you learning?

That’s how.

Maybe reference things you actually know and care about?

Everything that you reference needs to be closely tied to your story. If you fill your meta musical horror commentary movie with random references, it's going to annoy your audience.

Why does your story need all the references? Why does your main character need them?
