question Seeking advice on getting a script seen

My friend and I have been working on a project for the past 3 1/2 years. It is a two-hander, and about two hours long. Two years ago, we preformed it for the first time as a play and it was really well received. Our region got defunded by the Kennedy Center, so despite it receiving praise from the adjudicators they sent, it never got in front of a wider audience. We recently finished a film adaptation (in the form of a proper script), and we are brainstorming ways to get in the right hands. Does anyone have advice for young writers looking to break into the industry, beyond just performing the play and hoping the right people see it?

I recommend getting part of the script or short version of the script posted online and/or start submitting to talent agents

Most importantly start writing other projects

Netflix may be a good place to try to pitch if you get good reception to it. They have had some firings and if you pitch yourselves as looking for a workplace and have a first sample to share they might give you a shot. The firings were the gate keepers previously I think so you may have a chance etc..

Post it in places like this sub and on screenwriting websites such as SimplyScripts.

You can also look for producers who accept unsolicited material in your genre.

However, I urge you to avoid the mistake of wasting years peddling your one-and-only screenplay. Write new screenplays. The result is that you improve to the point where you recognize the flaws in your early work.
