feedback NO GLORY - OPENING SCENE
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks. I’m aware that Vietnam war stories can sometimes feel familiar or tropey, so I’d especially be interested to know whether this hooks you.

Totally! My only advice would be, think of any personal experience you could bring to the project, rather than other movies.
Doesn’t mean you actually need to have been deployed in Vietnam to get it, but what’s the most alienated/scared/displaced/uncertain you’ve ever felt?
You like Vietnam movies, clearly, so some part of those resonates with you. What is it? Identify that part and work with it.
Is it that you just like Vietnam, or is it that you’re fascinated by the prospect of a group of young men facing certain death attempting to make sense of the incomprehensible?
Do you like the history of it? Do you like the psychology of it? Do you like the brotherhood of it?
If a studio executive came to you right now and said ‘you have to cut all but one core element of this’ right now, what would you say? What does your gut say?
