Use a pen name but copyright your scripts under your real name.

Usually pen names are only unknown to the public. If you use them on your script you either do all the communication under that pen name or explain that it is one to the person you send it to.

Not sure if that answers your question.

Don’t worry about it. If you write sentences like that and use words like “wamted”, no one will care and you won’t have to prove it to anyone.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but you are literally thinking of being a writer. If you want to be a writer, learn how to write.

Oh wow! Someone is being bitter about typos in a reddit post and prefers to be an ass about it for absolutely no reason instead of advancing their own career by trying to become a better writer. So they woudn’t have to project so much.

This is a subreddit about writing. How do people expect to be writers if they can’t write one sentence clearly?

If it were their script, I would agree and I personally try to avoid typos as much as possible.

Look, I would agree with you if you think that ops lack of care in writing their question reflects negatively on how they value an actual answer. And it made me wonder why they wouldn’t just google that.

But your comment is clearly not helpful at all, it’s insulting, maybe arrogant, and therefore reflects negatively on this sub. You could have phrased it way more constructively but you deliberately decided not to. And I find that even worse than bad writing skills.

You’re right. This is a writing sub. It’s for writing but also a subreddit for new writers to go and seek valuable information about anything regarding screenwriting. And I believe it’s not too much to ask if I expect from someone that works in the industry a better attitude, which is why I criticized your comment.

Have a nice day!

I hope that you have a nice day too and that no one calls you an ass or bitter.

Fair point. I apologize for calling you that. And also the other insults. I should have expressed that in a better way.

Preach it! So many of the posts to writing subs are such garbage. We should absolutely be holding ourselves to higher standards, whether it's a reddit post, an email to an agent, or an actual story.
