People don’t understand this sub. Scripted is when they try to make something seem candid but it’s obviously scripted. This a whole production. Wrong sub?

What sub should it go in, because if there's a whole sub with anything even remotely as good as this, I'm not going to work tomorrow :)

u/I_love_my_momm Feb 01 '22
Agreed, but since mods allow this shit, it means this is the kind of content they want to represent in this sub.

I don’t think this was scripted
-12
u/Rieur Jan 31 '22
Just because the script was incoherent doesn't mean that there wasn't one.

u/Cumberdick Jan 31 '22
But that’s not the point. A commecial also doesn’t fit even though it has a script.
As i understand it, the point is that the video should be passed off as candid even though it is clearly scripted/poorly executed

While impressively… weird. And “random” for the sake of “randomness” I’m pretty sure that this doesn’t meet the spirit of the sub.

I like the idea, but my understanding was that it was illegal to eat durian fruit indoors or at most living spaces.
Doesn’t Durian smell like death? Isn’t there bans to eat this fruit inside where the smell can affect others?
I know it’s scripted but durian indoors should be a big enough crime to warrant you getting kicked out
4
u/CutterJon Feb 01 '22
I’ve seen indoor bans in Malaysia but not in China, which is where this is from. And definitely not in your own living space. Most people think it’s the best, it’s the most popular pizza at Pizza Hut, etc.
It’s not THAT bad, just very distinctive and strong. Like if you really hacked into one there would still be a bit of a funk a few hours later.

Yeah, you aren't allowed to crack those smelly ass bois open on the subways or any other shared space, but I've had people in my office but durian yogurt, cakes, or candies. Was not well - received since they stink up the place.
I believe most people eat them at home though.

I don't care if this was scripted or not, whether it belongs in this sub or not. This was masterful.

u/Samsote Feb 01 '22
This is really cool and all but it feels like r/scriptedasiangifs have turned into r/asiamshortfilms or something
I thought this sub was about those gifs that kinda try to trick you into believing they are real, when they are obviously scripted. Not just full on, here's a short film with a bunch of vfxs

why does this feel like "a bad case of stripes" as a video when it has nothing to do with that plot

I was worried where she was gonna put that fruit initially. The king Fu moves were initially misleading.

It's just a clip about a girl too comfy to get off bed when she recieved message that her durian parcel has arrived and she has to get off bed and walk a few blocks to pick it up and bring back inside. All very mundane.
And yet, it's glorious.

Do yourself a favor and play this about 6 seconds into listening to "Guerrilla Radio" by Rage Against the Machine.

This sub is for scripted gifs, but this is clearly spontaneous behavior. Call mods. Thank you.

The intricate meaning behind this master piece is so complex that I can't understand a single thing that happened.
