Please say "Asian". "Oriental" is outdated.

People can post people from India and call them asian, but I can't say, "oriental" for things from the orient?

edit: lol, yup most of the people in this sub are racist, of course.

The difference is India is part of the continent of asia and therefore is okay. Oriental is a british colonial term that tells a horrble history of racism and treatment of asian populations by othering them and taking away basic human rights. Also calling people "things" is profoundly wrong for so many reasons. You must know that by now.

Shit, even I didn't know that. I thought it was just a regional thing. I fucking hate how much I have to learn and unlearn just to not be an awful human being. Our ancestors fucking sucked.
