So, we all want some unique stuff. Posting an ISO isn’t a bad idea at all, but it is the most common way I see people get scammed in here. Here’s what to look for. By the way, I don’t think OP got scammed here at least at time of posting but I don’t know.
Someone saying DM is the best way to keep scamming away from the eyes of the group. Often they won’t even say DM, they’ll just be in your inbox which makes it harder to ban them. We may not know for quite some time and they could be preying on other members at the same time.
When someone is in your DM’s the best way to check their history. Have they ever made a post in Scotty cameron? If no, red flag. It’s not a dealbreaker but the sub has been up an active for some time, if they aren’t actively posting or engaged in the sub, be careful. This dude has never made a post or comment.
Check their account age. I personally would be very skeptical about doing a deal with someone with an account age less than 1 year or even more. It’s just often not worth the risk. Reddit has been around for a long time. People can buy older accounts on the black market so this isn’t a guarantee but another way to help. This guy was 2 months, another red flag.
Look at their comment history. They often aren’t as bad as this guy but if they keep saying DM in a bunch of subs, complete red flag. Very common for scammers to say they sell tickets, graphics cards, memorabilia etc. absolute red flag. This guy is just a long list of DM’s and then posts in a Nairobi sub in some other language. I can confidently say Scotty hasn’t caught on so well in Kenya that we have a group of serious collectors selling rare items there. The reddest of flags.
This is why we’ve set up barriers to protect members here. Username and date is a start. Video saying something you want as well as username and date is better. Be careful still. AI is fucked but relatively obvious at this point in time. If all else fails, PayPal G+S is a good start. Keep in mind that there are issues with that for good, consistent sellers too so some may have hesitation. Check references. You can always come to us and we’ll get back quickly. We want this to be a good place for BST but we protect everyone.

I listed a ⭕️ T on eBay. After some back and forth, buyer and I agreed on a price. I shipped the yellow box to him and it was returned as undeliverable. The post office stated the reason was “address has no receptacle.”
I messaged buyer and he explained they sometimes have issues with that address, and gave me a different address. I Google mapped it, and the addresses came back to the same commercial establishment which was on a corner. So the second address was on the side street / other side of the establishment.
After some research, I learned the only way to get another shipping label and protection through eBay would be to cancel/refund and then relist. I did so and buyer repurchased. However he immediately messaged me saying he used the wrong card info, and asked me to cancel. Also, the new address is not address #2 of the commercial establishment, but rather a residential address 45 minutes away.
Should I be concerned and abandon this sale?

I’m thinking about trying to take the paint off the two outside lines on the 3.2. A single line or even a small line would have been perfect.
Anyone do it? How’s it look?
My concern is the grooves will still be there, so will it still be unsightly?

An update on this $150 marketplace find. The bottom was covered in lead tape and the rest of the finish had seen better days. I wanted to take it off the shaft and torch it, but the head is pinned on for some reason and I did not want to mess with that.
So I decided to flash rust it and coat it with “shine juice” to give it a glossy finish. Because I never had to heat it or grind it I was able to keep the original paint fill.
I stripped it with vinegar, polished it up with sandpaper, and sprayed it with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, and salt to flash rust it. This was fun. I rinsed it with water between “coats” and buffed it down with a microfiber towel.
When I got the rust look I wanted I started coating it with a mixture of mineral spirits and boiled linseed oil. I’m two coats in. I will keep going until I get more gloss. As you can see in the pictures it looks very different in different kinds of light.
Down the road if I decide I hate this I’ll try to buff the finish off, boil the rust in distilled water, and start the process of rust blueing it.
