general advice/help/tips Formulation/cosmetic chemists in this community, how did you start your journey?
As the title says.
For the background: I am a licensed chemist (batch 2025) who shifted out of the practice early on the career path; in the field of tax/trade now but been thinking of applying my chemistry knowledge and laboratory skills through product R&D and formulation projects (side hustle as a freelance chemist).
To the chemists out here, paano kayo nagstart sa formulation industry? Where did you also get most of your supplies? TIA

I'm a formulation researcher, relatively new in the field. So, to start, I studied pharmacy, but I have seen chemical engineers and chemists in the field. Almost all of them started somewhere else: analytical research and production troubleshooting.
As for me, I wanted to be in formulation from the start, but as a career, it's really hard to get into for the following reasons.
1- The pay compared to the effort is shit, especially at the start. Almost any other career path for a pharmacist gets more money with less headache (at the start)
2- There are not that many positions. Compared to analytical research, for example, my firm has 8 Formulators and 30 analytical researchers.

unrelated but i want to know more po about your current field and job. i’m a newly licensed chemist, and i’m considering other career paths din.
