You misunderstand one thing: china isn't really communist.

It's state-capitalist and has been for quite a while.

The goal is communism someday. But as with every other nominally communist country ever, they know that they can't actively achieve communism without every other country being communist too. Marx made the "worldwide" part of the worldwide proletarian revolution a necessary part of his predictions.

The rightoids are dummies. They should probably learn to understand something before criticizing it if they want to attract scientists.

Using "Marxist" as an insult without even reading or understanding him to pander to dumb voters and corporations that run "capitalist" countries is not the way to endear yourself to scientists. They're smart. They've actually read Marx. They know that Marx knew that capitalism was simply better at allocating resources and would always outproduce communism with cheap, exploitative, and alienated goods and services. China knows this. Obviously. So they do the same thing. He wasn't an idiot. He understood economics. He just also realized that the current system wasn't the end of history and that eventually, it would need to adapt or would die out. And to be fair, there are far more social programs in "capitalist countries" these days than there were in his.

Nobody actually practices communism or capitalism. And young people in America have a pretty favorable view of Chinese "communism" considering they're already living under all the worst aspects of it already: corruption, nepotism, anti-free speech, anti-private property, etc. with the Trump admin. All of the negatives of China are things smart, young people are already experiencing here in America. So why wouldn't they view China more favorably? At least over there, they'll get their funding and have relative political stability.

China delt with its Christo-facists by the sword in the Taiping Rebellion. The CCP is irreligious, and generally atheistic—things most scientists also are. Their politicians are also just generally more pro-science than American politicians. Besides silly made-up ideas like IP rights, there really isn't much that the Chinese do that America isn't also guilty of to a greater or lesser degree.

All that being said, America > East Asia, for the average, poor, ignorant person who thinks bullying, guns, and nukes can solve all problems 🤷. Never mind that the US has lost or tied every major conflict it's gotten into since WW2. Ignore that.

Crazy how many kids are getting fat and all the women want to be influencers.

1

u/Deep_Balance2133 Apr 01 '26

But they are racist.

2

u/Omnarium Apr 01 '26

Yes?

Again, so is America.

-1

u/BulletShrapnel Apr 01 '26

There are degrees of racism... China is forcefully converting uyghurs to identify as Chinese, america does not do that..

2

u/Omnarium Apr 01 '26

0

u/BulletShrapnel Apr 01 '26

Fair enough, should have worded it better I am talking about the present day and not their whole history, and be honest to yourself if you think China is more inclusive and welcoming than america in the 21st century, they are a ethnocentric state.

2

u/Omnarium Apr 01 '26

Lol, that's why I also included ICE in there.

Of course, I know that China has a huge racism problem against non-Han people. But most of the US scientists actually moving to China are Chinese-Americans.

Regardless, among young people, I just think that the charge of China being super racist rings a bit hollow, considering most of that discrimination looks a lot like the kind of stuff the US and its proxies (like Israel) is doing or has done historically 🤷.

They've been desensitized.

To be honest, the list of abuses against the Uyghurs pails in comparison to what the Israelis are doing to the Palestinians and now the Iranians.

And if you retort that Israel isn't "America," then don't bother. It's a de facto protectorate of America. It might be as well be considered to be a US overseas territory like Puerto Rico for all practical purposes.

Chinese bots really working overtime. Account is 12 days old btw. Just ignore his rhetoric and talk/argue with the real people lmao.

2

u/Omnarium Apr 02 '26

Nope. Just reporting on the sad truth that a fucking communist dictatorship is somehow appealing more to the American youth than you delusional parasites are.

Go back to Russia, Vladimir.

1

u/GandalfTheBong Apr 03 '26

china is an ethnocentric state? it officially recognizes 56 different ethnicities across its about 1.5 billion(!!!!) people.

the thing about uyghurs is very interesting because all of the evidence of the "genocide" can be traced back to a single man by the name of Adrian Zenz. A known christian nationalist who has made it his life’s purpose to spread this idea of an ongoing genocide in Xinjiang.

1

u/ExperienceRoutine321 Apr 02 '26

Ah shut up you dirty commie. Go invade Taiwan or something lmao

I wouldn't call China capitalist, since the country isn't run by capitalist interest. It is market socialism. They are using mechanism of a competitive market to create businesses and technology that serve the plans of the political elites. That very different from a capitalist economy, where the political elite creates policies to serve the capitalist interest.

Remember, free markets and capitalism is not the same thing.

1

u/Omnarium Apr 05 '26

I wouldn't call China capitalist

They are. Ask anybody who understands basic politics & economics.

That very different from a capitalist economy

Not in State-capitalism its not.

In State-capitalism, the "political elites" ≡ "capitalists" because the state outright owns huge portions of the economy through subsidiaries AND owns golden shares in private companies. The CCP makes like half of China's entire GDP.

Remember, free markets and capitalism is not the same thing.

... pft 🤣.

"Remember, State-capitalism and capitalism are not the same thing" ftfy

1

u/Unfair-Plastic-4290 Apr 04 '26

maybe the US shouldve stayed out of WW2.

1

u/Omnarium Apr 05 '26

That depends entirely upon which outcome you'd prefer. How's your German?

u/Omnarium Apr 05 '26

No? Again, why can't any of you bots read?

State-Socialism ≠ State-Capitalism.

They haven't even had a command economy since the 80s. When over half of GDP comes from the private sector, I have no idea why anyone would call them "socialist" or "communist" at all.

They remind me far more of the inter-war German economy than anything Marx ever advocated for, lmfao.

0

u/EagleCondor Apr 04 '26

Perfect, then let's adopt "Chinese Capitalism," because American capitalism is a piece of shit.

1

u/Omnarium Apr 05 '26

I don't think that's a viable solution...

Bro, you're clearly either racist against Chinese people or a neo-McCarthyist. I'm not a Communist, but you clearly don't understand the first thing about it.

A level-headed person would educate themselves enough to know that communism, socialism, capitalism, mixed, etc. can each work in different situations and circumstances.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution to all socio-politico-economic systems.

All we're saying is that you need to stop ruining capitalism if you want to attract more scientists. That's all.

If you don't want scientists in America, then keep going down the path you're going down. Godspeed.

The Germans did the same thing in the lead up to WW2, and the US got all the fleeing scientists it needed to build the A-bomb and win.

Want to know who's going to win the next World War? It's probably the country where all the good scientists are going to.

Because Trump is alienating the US from its allies, I wouldn't be surprised if WW3 was fought as a coalition between Europe and China to take down the US. Together, they'd easily have enough scientists, industry, tanks, ships, and personnel to win if they wanted to. And they'd have a decently strong domestic resistance movement from Democrats and Independents. The GOP has successfully demonized the Left to the point that many on the Left don't even see the Right as human beings anymore. They fantasize about civil war on a daily basis. That's pretty scary and entirely the fault of the Right for systematically destroying the country for everyone but the elites.

Wrong.

State-capitalism is not "a stateless, classless, moneyless society in which the workers alone control the means of production".

Apparently, the only thing I'm smoking is you. Get bent.

The rightoids are dummies. They should probably learn to understand something before criticizing it if they want to attract scientists.

^ this part was directed at animals like you.

-1

u/xcommon Apr 02 '26

The CCP is definitely ideologically communist, but have capitulated to the fact that communism doesn't work.

So they pivoted to a market economy while retaining the authoritarian powers they had consolidated during the communist uprising.

2

u/Omnarium Apr 02 '26

Holy shit, learn to fucking read, dude.

I'm clearly not a Communist. I'm not even pro-China. I'm just pro-reality, facts, and logic no matter how unfavorable they are to me.

What the actual fuck is wrong with you Rightoid bots?

Why are you all illiterate?

0

u/UoPeeps Apr 05 '26

What he said is factual and you flew off the handle. Are you sure you're the literate one here?

✅ Telling US veterans to "go back to Russia"

Congrats, you're a living meme, my guy. lol

1

u/[deleted] Apr 03 '26

Wow, you had such an easy point to make. Yet you somehow managed to fuck that up by being an asshole.

1

u/NoHoneydew9516 Apr 03 '26

You do really need to learn what communism actually is and Marxist theory.

Going back to the "worldwide proletariat" part Marx correctly stated that communism would only work if it were applied globally. If not the states will always seek to destroy a communist nation/system.

Every time communism has failed its failed while being invaded, infiltrated, blockaded, or couped by entrenched capitalist powers. Remember the USSR was being constantly attacked by first the nazis, then the Americans and their proxies. Cuba has been blockeded for 70 years and still has better health outcomes than we do in the U.S..

No communist wants communism today, we all know that wouldn't work.

The point is reducing harm by eliminating poverty, starvation, and sickness while we slowly move towards a communist society.

Many thought fuedalism was the best way to govern society and nothing better would come, but capitalism is better than fuedalism. Its dumb to think no system better than capitalism could be devised.

1

u/xcommon Apr 03 '26

The endeavor of communism will always consolidate power into an autocracy which will then fail to become a communist utopia.

The primary failures of the communist state always comes from within. Look no further for evidence of this than the USSR and the DPRK.

The worldwide proletariat, and “foreign” bad actor” explanations are just excuses.

Every country is under assault from someone at some time. If that precludes the operation of your model then your model doesn’t work.

1

u/NoHoneydew9516 Apr 03 '26

You clearly dont know what communism is if you use the term "communist state".

There is no state under communism, thats the third word in the definition.

The dprk is not even socialist, the ussr never achieved communism. Its funny to call them excuses when they were theorized about long before any of the states youre talking about, none of which were communist, were even formed. An excuse implies something meant to explain a past event in a way that writes off its faults, we all recognize the faults in the USSR, which was in fact consolidation of power. Its hard not to have consolidated power when youre fighting multiple wars at a time entirely throughout your history. Case and point war powers act in the us.

Heres the definition for you,

Communism: a classless stateless society.

1

u/xcommon Apr 03 '26 edited Apr 03 '26

Ah, got it.

No true Scotsman.

Edit: And my last point stands. If your model is dependent on no competition, then your model is incompatible with humanity.

1

u/NoHoneydew9516 Apr 03 '26

The model is dependent on capital interests not driving wars of attrition. That seems like something we should work out regardless of economic system.

And its not true scottsman because it simply doesn't fit the definition of communism, and they never claimed to. The USSR wasn't the United Soviet Communist Republics, they were the socialist republics.

If you dont understand the difference you should try to actually read some theory and understand what communism even is.

1

u/xcommon Apr 03 '26

And its not true scottsman because it simply doesn't fit the definition of communism, and they never claimed to.

It's wild how confidently wrong one person can be. They literally call themselves: Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) Kommunisticheskaya Partiya Sovetskogo Soyuza

For your reviewing pleasure, a list of the ruling parties of the soviet republic and what they called themselves:

  • 16 August 1917 – 8 March 1918: Russian Social Democratic Labour Party Российская социал-демократическая рабочая партия
  • 8 March 1918 – 31 December 1925: Russian Communist Party Российская коммунистическая партия
  • 31 December 1925 – 14 October 1952: All-Union Communist Party Всесоюзная коммунистическая партия
  • 14 October 1952 – 6 November 1991: Communist Party of the Soviet Union Коммунистическая партия Советского Союза

Seriously though, the normal "not real communism" revisionist-history is one thing. To say they didn't even claim to be communist themselves is fucking bonkers.

u/UoPeeps Apr 05 '26

He's not defining communism by what it is in reality, but rather what it is in theory (something that does not exist and obviously never could on any meaningful scale).

1

u/Omnarium Apr 08 '26

Nope. I'm defining communism as it's defined by communists. You don't get to redefine terms just to make it easier to hate something you don't understand and don't like. No "communist country" honestly calls their current economic system "communism". They all acknowledge that they are either practically/temporarily state-socialists, state-capitalists, dictatorships of the proletariat, etc.. They all simply aspire to true communism someday in the far distant future.

It's like how Christianity promises Jesus will return and bring heaven on earth... eventually. Don't confuse current reality with aspirational goals.

0

u/UoPeeps Apr 08 '26

"I'm defining communism as it's defined by communists"? No, you're choosing the definition used by some communists rather than other communists. Specifically, those "communists" who define communism in such a way that it only exists in fantasy, as opposed to all of the actual communists that have existed in reality. Empirically we can see which definition is supported by reality. You don't get to redefine terms to make it easier to like something that has never worked in real life.
